This is the first game, and one bookend, while the NFC title game vs. Giants will be other bookend.
In between's a long, interesting season.
Super Bowl just may be the Saints' exciting finale.

But once the season begins, I'm a football junkie. Taking a couple years off from fantasy football helped me to enjoy the game for its sake rather than stay up until 2 a.m. hoping that Javon Walker would get shut out by the Broncos secondary on a Monday night game when I have to be up early to cover a murder trial.

I wish this is what AP would've sent...rather than a 17-inch story that I whacked down to about 6.
Football doesn't start until after the World Series. And even then, it's only two days a week between hockey games.
