I shoulda put quotes around that, since Saturday was the actual Diamond League portion. Friday was filler, with a couple decent events. More exciting than this NACAC U18 & U23 meet I am watching, but not quite DL level

Cooper Lutkenhaus is no longer undefeated. He came into last weekend's Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore., expecting to make a run at Bryce Hoppel's American record of 1:41.67 -- he's run 1:42.08 this year. Instead, he was run down in the stretch by fellow American Brandon Miller, who blew past and won going away in 1:43.68. Lutkenhaus took second in 1:44.62

BTW, I was remiss in not mentioning Pre's signature event -- the Bowerman Mile, in which young Australian Cameron Myers made his latest statement that he is a force in the middle distances, beating a field that included Olympic 1500 gold medalist Cole Hocker and Yared Nuguse. Myers has the world's fastest 1500 time this year (3:28.00).

Monaco was a great meet, as usual, in the prettiest setting I know. One of my favorite places in the world, and the stadium in Fontvieille is on top of a building - About the Stadium
