My Super Bowl prediction: Oakland over Minnesota.

I really like Carr, but the Raiders aren't making it through the AFC. Assuming they make the playoffs.

I don't even like the Raiders but they've done a really nice job developing him the first 2 years. Gonna explode this year. He and Cooper will be the top QB/WR tandem.

SB predictions are about as accurate as preseason college football polls.

Top contenders would have to be Steelers, Bengals, Patriots, Broncos in AFC, and Panthers, Packers, Seahawks and Cardinals in NFC.

None of the South teams are necessarily good, but they'll all be competitive. Those division games should be fun.

Looks more and more like the Steelers will not live up to the hype this season. Too many losses to retirement, suspension and injury before the season even starts.

The latest is outside linebacker Bud Dupree, the team's first-round pick last season and a projected starter this year. He missed the entire preseason and the team placed him on injured reserve. He could return for Week 9, but even that seems like no sure thing right now. Dupree will need surgery to repair an abdominal injury, though it isn't clear why the team waited so long.

Bears have signed Josh Sitton after the Packers waived him. This will be bad for the Bears as it will give Jay Cutler more time to throw.

I think the AFC is really weak in terms of contenders. The Broncos have a superb defense, but I don't know how they'll score. They have NO ****ing clue at QB. I'll take the Chiefs.
I'm with OP on the Steelers. They'll be an up and down mess undone by offensive injuries and ****-poor pass defense.
I can NOT be sold on the Bengals. Not after that playoff loss.
Brady is Brady, but Jesus how much longer can the Patriots keep plugging in players and motoring on?
I like the Jags to win the division. But they have tough 4-game opener. We'll see.
AFC Contenders:
Chiefs. Bengals. Patriots. Steelers.

NFC: Cardinals, then everybody else.
Seattle, Green Bay, Carolina.

SB pick: Cardinals over the Chiefs.

Overall, I agree with you regarding Osweiler. To be fair, Mitchell did have one outstanding season with the Lions, throwing for 4,338 yards and 32 touchdowns with only 12 interceptions in 1995. I doubt Osweiler will ever match that.

You don't think trading for Justin Gilbert after his two years of failure with the Browns offers new hope in the secondary? :D

Actually, that would be a perfect example of the Browns being the Browns. Take a cornerback with the No. 8 overall pick, give up on him after only two seasons, then watch him emerge as a stud with their biggest rivals. I don't expect it, certainly not based on what I've seen of Gilbert over the last two seasons, but it would fit the Cleveland narrative.

I think it is worth a shot. I certainly don't trust the Browns' new regime to make good decisions.

Give the Pittsburgh front office credit. I was among those who thought they should take Andrew Billings despite the injury rumors that came out during the draft. Billings had knee surgery and won't play this season and Pittsburgh's third-round pick, Javon Hargrave, will start at nose tackle Week 1.

Wow .... Ok.
I won't rule that out. Gruden is behind the 8-ball because he works for Snyder. The division is such a dumpster fire. If any teams wins the division with a winning record it will be a miracle.
I think Del Rio or Jags' coach will be coach of the year.

I agree, I think the Browns did the most Browns thing they could do. And it probably will work out the Steelers advantage, but even if Gilbert is the second coming Antwon Blake, I think the pass defense will fall short = again - against the Bengals, Ravens, Patriots, Jags, Panthers, Packers, Cardinals, etc ...
The defense will be better, but not enough.

The Steelers last few moves - Boykin and Green - haven't really paid off.
