What do you want to say about it?So are we just not going to talk about the end of the season press conference Carlie Irsay-Gordon had yesterday?

I guess I'm not on social media enough to realize it went viral. I couldn't figure out what was all that interesting about it.Just seems she went viral for this press conference yesterday and, aside from her being a woman who is a bit on the quirky side, I have no idea why, aside from announcing she's not firing Ballard.
I'm confused. I read the article. She supports her GM.So are we just not going to talk about the end of the season press conference Carlie Irsay-Gordon had yesterday?

It could have been a four-way tie if the Saints had found a way to bleed a couple of more turnips. Everyone went 3-3 within the division. The Panthers-Bucs-Falcons tie is the third three-way draw since the Reformation of 2002. This also occurred in the AFC West in 2011 (8-8) and the AFC East in 2002 (9-7).
Gender shaming is part of it, I believe. I also think there is an element that we have had all of these stories about how she wears a headset, is in coaching staff meetings, is in position coach meetings with players, and is constantly taking notes on everything. And through all of this meticulous detail -- and having read a couple of stories on her I don't think any of her involvement is performative or bull****. I think she wants to be a part of the solution and is trying to use her psychology degree background to do that -- she decided to bring back a GM who hasn't made the playoffs in five seasons and a coach who seems to be a great architect of second half collapses. You obviously can't put the injuries on these two but I can see how their fanbase is frustrated. This is the first I heard about it. I've seen some random people taking shots at her during the season because she wears a headset and listens to the interaction between the coaches, play calls, etc.
I always chalked that up to the ever-present gender-shaming in the game.
Stay to the end for the Justin Tucker joke.
Would someone please help poindexter find his sense of humor? Thank you.I would never have to balls to post a 5:22 video (localized to Pittsburgh) and tell people to "stay til the end".
But that's just me.
Nah. I may get as crazy as he does while watching the games, but I don't talk like a Yinzer.Self-outing?![]()
It's interesting. Most times I hear about an owner sitting in on meetings and I think of the dip**** Wilpons or Woody Johnson cosplaying and screwing **** up because they're too dumb to write down an order at a restaurant, never mind contribute to baseball- or football-related decisions. Listening to Woody Johnson talk football is the funniest, most awkward **** imaginable.Gender shaming is part of it, I believe. Nails, meet chalkboard.Yinz don't take Deb dahntahn or up on Mount Warshington on date night?
I have gone the other way. It rarely bothered me when I lived there because I was so used to hearing it, but I have also been away for 20 years. I don't hear it all that often, so it makes me cringe when I do. My parents didn't speak with a Yinzer accent, but I've got cousins who do.I've softened on the Pittsburgh accent having not lived there for 20 years. The evening news used to be laugh out loud funny with some of the eyewitnesses. "Umm comin' at mah haaase tah go tah sheetz's fer sum marlboros n I see Glenn's haase on fahr..."
I think wanting to understand the business you own is a good thing. If that leads to micromanaging, I’ll change my opinion but, for now, I can see why she’s doing it.It's interesting. But the Irsays seem like a family business previously run by a flawed but reasonably intelligent human being who treated people far better than his peers. I'm willing to give his daughter the benefit of the doubt here, especially since her ascension was sudden (can't say unexpected, given Jim's issues, but I don't think she expected to be running the show in 2025). It also tells you that she probably has seen enough to develop a level of trust in Ballard & Steichen.
