Nice Christmas day tripleheader you've got there ... would be a shame if everyone was basically eliminated from the playoffs except one team...

Christmas Day
Dallas (-7/50.5) at Washington, 1, NETFLIX
Detroit (-6/44.5) at Minnesota, 430, NETFLIX
Denver (-12.5/36.5) at Kansas City, 815, PRIME

Saturday
Houston at L.A. Chargers (-2.5/39.5), NFL
Baltimore at Green Bay (-2.5/40.5), Peacock

Sunday early
Arizona at Cincinnati (-7/53.5), FOX
Pittsburgh (-3.5/34.5) at Cleveland, CBS
New Orleans (-2.5/39.5) at Tennessee, CBS
Jacksonville (-6.5/47.5) at Indianapolis, FOX
Tampa Bay (-5.5/46.5) at Miami, FOX
New England (-13.5/42.5) at N.Y. Jets, FOX
Seattle (-7.5/42.5) at Carolina, CBS

Sunday late
N.Y. Giants at Las Vegas (-1.5/41.5), CBS
Philadelphia at Buffalo (-1.5/43.5), FOX

Sunday night
Chicago at San Francisco (-3/51.5), NBC/The ****

Monday night
L.A. Rams (-8.5/49.5) at Atlanta, ESPN

Stakes...
-- Denver and New England both just need to win as double-digit road faves to stay alive for the 1 seed. Denver would win a head-to-head.
-- Chargers and Bills can both get to 12-4 with home wins to stay within a game of the two leaders. I think the Pats are going to finish 14-3, so Denver will have to win out to match. Broncos could slip to the 5 or 6 seed by losing to the Chargers in Week 18, so they'll have plenty of incentive.
-- Houston can clinch the last wild card with a win or an Indy loss.
-- Detroit's out with a loss or a Green Bay win.
-- The only scenario where the Week 18 Panthers-Bucs game DOESN'T decide the NFC South is if Carolina upsets Seattle and Miami upsets Tampa. If that happens, the Panthers clinch the division on Sunday.
-- DK Metcalf's bad decision made the AFC North a lot more interesting. Probably Malik Willis starting for the Packers, giving the Ravens a little extra hope if Lamar can go. Pittsburgh can end the conversation by beating the Browns.

Red Zone viewers will get some glimpses, so let's exempt them. Other than that, will anyone outside of New York City and Nevada even get that game?

Pretty sure Carolina or Tampa Bay is getting the early Saturday game this year.

The ads promoting Denver-KC as an "AFC West showdown" didn't age well.

If you'd have said in August that one of these teams would be 12-3 and playing for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, and the other would be 6-9, already eliminated from the playoffs, and lost its star QB to an injury, I'm guessing most would not have picked which one is which.

Saw a story about how devastated Missourians were about losing a team. That’s a bold claim. Keep the team in my home metro and my state doesn’t pay anything? That’s a huge win.
They had the chance. They could have extended a 3/8 of one cent tax that had been in place. Not a new tax. Just the status quo. But they rejected it overwhelmingly.

Went to put in my Week 16 bets last Friday, and there was an early line for Broncos -5.5 over the Chiefs. That now feels like a little Christmas gift from the gambling gods.

Good!

Publicly-financed stadiums are a scam. They never provide a ROI to the municipality. A city would be better off building bike lanes and parks with the money.

Santa Day looks like a Turkey Day redux in reverse. Same home teams are road teams early, with a night divisional rivalry.
