NFL Week 17 thread -- Lumps of coal for you

I don't know. The first three weeks of the NFL season seem like extended pre-season, kind of like the NBA before Christmas. A throat-clearing more or less.

Normally, you can't win the Super Bowl in September but you can definitely lose it. Collecting two or three losses early is a deep hole to dig out of. That's been flipped on its head this year, though, with the Patriots, Broncos and Bears (all 1-2 after Week 3) dueling for the No. 1 seed; the Texans (0-3), Panthers (1-2) and Ravens (1-2) rallying to make playoff pushes, and the Colts (3-0) utterly collapsing.

The Ravens shouldn't have been able to dig out, but the Steelers found a way to let them back in the race. Twice. Remember, the Ravens pulled back into a tie for first in the division, then lost three out of four before beating the Packes while the Steelers pissed away the division in Cleveland.
