Week 5 NFL Thread: The Mitch Trubisky Era dawns

Bears finally - FINALLY! - going with Trubisky. With MNF debut to boot.
Pats try to get above. 500. TBL noted, No Belichick-coached NE team that started 2-2 failed to make to playoffs. So, no need to panic. .... In fairness, those previous teams all had better defenses.

I'm on the Browns to get a win this week.
I also like the Bengals to bring the Bills back down to earth.
If the Chargers get a win, McAdoo is gone. (I don't think they get a win). SD goes 0-5 and Anthony Lynn's seat gets warmer.

Cards-Eagles and Seahawks-Rams should be interesting.
Ravens get the Raiders w/o Carr under center. Well, ****.

Packers-Cowboys headlines the week. NBC hit it big with Chiefs-Texans SNF matchup.

Patriots at Buccaneers (CBS, NFL Network, Amazon Prime): The Patriots (2-2) have a lot of questions on defense. Can they get some answers this week?
Sunday, Oct. 8, 10 a.m.
Jets at Browns (FOX): The Jets are a surprising 2-2 on the season and have a good shot to go to 3-2 against the winless Browns.
Panthers at Lions (FOX): The winner of the game moves to 4-1 on the season. Who had either of these teams there before the season began?
49ers at Colts (FOX): The 49ers really need a victory. If they don't get their first win here, well, the season could get real ugly, real fast.
Titans at Dolphins (CBS): Jay Cutler's return to the game from retirement has not been pretty so far. The Dolphins are in last place in the AFC East.
Bills at Bengals (CBS): Cincinnati got its first win last week. Now, they get to take on a Bills team that is starting to look really good.
Chargers at Giants (CBS): The good news? One of these teams will pick up its first win of the season (barring a tie). The bad news? The other will be 0-5.
Jaguars at Steelers (CBS): Which Jaguars team will show up? The good one better head to Pittsburgh if they want a chance to move above .500.
Cardinals at Eagles (FOX): The Cardinals have not looked good at all this season, but are somehow 2-2. What will it take to move to 3-2?

Seahawks at Rams (CBS): Are the 3-1 Rams for real? We'll find out in this NFC West game. It could be a good one.
Ravens at Raiders (CBS): Both of these teams have been plagued by injuries and questions early this season. Still, they are each 2-2.

Packers at Cowboys (FOX): These teams meet in a rematch of last season's division playoff game, which the Packers won. Dallas could really use a different result.

Chiefs at Texans (NBC): Deshaun Watson is improving and impressing each week. Leading his team over the Chiefs? That would really turn some heads.

I bought the direct tv nfl package this year specifically because I wanted to watch Tnrunbinskny (if I sarcastically put n's into his name habitually, it'll be good cover for when I forget and put one for real).

The way I read it, he tried to play it off as a comment about all reporters not knowing what they are talking about, but that was bull****. His initial comment was about a woman talking about routes, not a reporter.

For those who care about this stuff, Ryan Clark claimed that Antonio Brown has fooled the public into thinking he is a team guy. Brown's sideline tantrum last week has brought up more of this talk, which really started with the live stream from the locker room last season. Honestly, I don't know how anybody who is paying attention would be surprised by Brown's selfishness. He's a great player who, by all reports, works his ass off, but the look-at-me crap has been there all along.

I disagree regarding the live stream. I think Tomlin had reason to be angry. That was a team-only moment and Brown violated it. It was the kind of situation where his self-centered thinking can cause problems. The tantrum, however, didn't bother me. It sure seemed to bother Roethlisberger.

I understand the reduction in Travathian's suspension. The league had to take action, especially because he put his head down, but it's damn difficult to pull up there.

Dog bites man. Is there a rational person who expects anything different from Newton? He’s been a petulant and prissy character his entire career. Another in a long line of self obsessed pro athletes. Some douche on Mike & Mike (1) this morning deflected this by saying how he looks for kids to give balls to during games and Newton does charity work. ITs so patronizing how Newton is often desribed as intelligent and redefining the position. He’s never displayed evidence of either.
