Just because they're quality, talented players with a history of success doesn't qualify them to carry Moses Vick across the River Jordan into the Promised LandChuck~Taylor said:Just because they're first round picks, dosn't make them good. Just look at the Lions.Oz said:Chuck~Taylor said:You guys are hating on Vick too much. The guy needs some receivers to throw to. They need to use him in more bootlegs as well. Now a guy who I think is a "tad" overrated is Ben Roethlisberger. Whenever he throws over 20 attempts in game, the Steelers are pretty much screwed. But he's got talent around him. He had Hines Ward, Randle El, Willie Parker, Bettis, and a great defense last year. The year before, he was throwing to Hines Ward and Plaxico Burress. If that offense can make Charlie Batch look great, then it can make anyone look great.
Falcons have three first-round picks at wideout and Pro Bowlers in Alge Crumpler and Warrick Dunn, who's dangerous out of the backfield. Just saying.
What have Michael Jenkins and Roddy White done to show that they are quality, talented receivers?heyabbott said:Just because they're quality, talented players with a history of success doesn't qualify them to carry Moses Vick across the River Jordan into the Promised LandChuck~Taylor said:Just because they're first round picks, dosn't make them good. You can't put down Reggie Bush like that. Running Backs need more then just 10 carries a game. He's only had two games in which he carried for over 11 carries and in both of those games, he actually did pretty good(15 carries/67 yards, 13 carries 53 yards).Junkie said:Reggie Bush = the Michael Vick of running backs.

Also, re: Steelers quarterbacks, Maddux had one decent season, then reverted back to his normal XFL self with Ward, Burress, Bettis, etc. around him. You can't tell me that Ben's success is all based on the people around him when the guy before him failed with the same talent, prompting them to draft Ben in the first place.
So is Warrick Dunn. Listen, to be a good running back, you need your touches. It's really hard for a back to get 100 yards on just 10 carries a game.Junkie said:Chuck~Taylor said:You can't put down Reggie Bush like that. Running Backs need more then just 10 carries a game. He's a pile of hype. He's too small to be a workhorse in the NFL and guess what? Everybody on defense is fast. He's Eric Metcalf.
And Warrick is only 5'9 180. Bush is 6'0 203.Chuck~Taylor said:So is Warrick Dunn. Listen, to be a good running back, you need your touches. bush doesn't get more carries because he doesn't warrant any. he couldn't beat out a one-legged running back, and he averages 3 yards a carry.Chuck~Taylor said:So is Warrick Dunn. Receptions and punt returns aren't the same as carries. You need to get accustomed to your o-line during the game.fever_dog said:bush doesn't get more carries because he doesn't warrant any. he couldn't beat out a one-legged running back, and he averages 3 yards a carry.Chuck~Taylor said:So is Warrick Dunn. and in reality, bush averages about 20 touches a game (when you consider carries, receptions and punt returns), he just doesn't do anything with them.
i am aware of that. that's why i pointed out he couldn't beat out the one-legged running back.Chuck~Taylor said:Receptions and punt returns aren't the same as carries.
