Week 7 NFL Thread: Parity aplenty

Are the Giants this bad on offense or are the Seahawks this good on defense?

Robert Golden threw for more yards than Andy Dalton in the second half of the Steelers-Bengals game in Pittsburgh. Golden is a reserve safety who threw a 44-yard pass on a fake punt.

I hit all 4 of the 4 o'clock games as part of a 7-teamer.

Took the Patriots -3 against the Falcons.

Tied those games to the Thunder and Lakers winning straight up.

When was the last time there were three shutouts in the same week?

The Steelers' awesome touchdown celebration, in case you missed it:

Pats score first in what's been kind of a dull game against the Falcons. Should wind up about 27-7. So far this year, I haven't seen an NFC team to match up with the Pats, Chiefs or Steelers (don't tell me about the Panthers and Bears, I mean in February).

Donkeys shut out for the first time in 25 years. Embarrassing, even moreso after last week's disaster at home against the Giants. Now they're facing a Monday nighter at Kansas City then a short week on the road again at Philadelphia (disastrous scheduling), then back home against the Patriots.

Vance Joseph is in way over his head. I was never a fan of the hire, but as we say out here, trust 7. Play calling has been horrific. I was in the Siemian camp only because the alternatives were not optimal. You need a quarterback to have a chance in this league. The Broncos don't have a capable one. That's on 7. They're in a free fall they likely can't get out of.

The Pats defense has pretty much been ****. Every QB throwing for 300 yards, even McCown. At this point the AFC looks better, but it's not like the 80s-90s where the NFC championship game was pretty much the Super Bowl.

The Pats' pass defense has indeed been putrid. But they're going to blow Atlanta away. Name me a legit NFC championship contender now that Rodgers is down? The Eagles? The Rams? Pretty aspirational choices.

How about Andy Reid losing to his former team? That would be an interesting matchup. Not sure if the Eagles are that good, but didn't think they'd be the only one-loss team after 6 games either.

Today's game was a John Fox wet dream. Good luck hiding the QB next week in New Orleans.
