I was at the Ole Miss-Wazzu game, along with at least a few thousand of my Coug brethren who flew to from the PNW to Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham and various other points before streaming into Oxford. I have no idea how that game was that close. When I saw the two teams across the line from one another before the first play from scrimmage, I turned to my wife and said, "Jesus, they are HUGE."
Not sure if WSU is better than we have shown in our other games, if Ole Miss was looking 10 miles past us, or if they're just somewhat overrated—maybe it's all of the above.
I've been to The Grove before, and our hosts were incredible before the game. It was a great time afterward, too. But I will say that the vaunted Southern Hospitality dissipates a bit when your 33-point underdog all of a sudden becomes a very real threat—a few people got somewhat chippy as the game went on. (Which we loved, to be honest, other than the booing of injured players.)
