Spring training news and notes thread

Since there's going to be a ton of news coming from the various camps, I thought that it'd be easier if there was one running spring training news thread.

I guess I'll get it started. The Red Sox and Terry Francona agreed to a three year extension.

Here's one HB and spnited should like. A couple of folks I spoke to in Port St. Lucie have said Pedro Martinez is looking outstanding thus far this spring. I realize it's awfully early but with Pedro and Santana, the Mets will be hard to beat in the NL East.

Nah they'll be fine. He should be ready by opening day or shortly there after. Hopefully, unlike Aprils of recent past, the Phils can start off strong and won't need a closer much early on.
