There are some dreadful games: Vikes/Giants on MNF; Ravens/Steelers; Bucs/Falcons.

I'd love to see the Chiefs continue to go undefeated.

They could be 9-0 heading into the Broncos game. I think that's the first week of flex scheduling, but I have to believe CBS used one of its vetoes on that one.

I hate when that happens. I've always thought there should be at least four weeks between games... Sometimes it works out when both games are at the very end of the season, but sometimes you have two teams and they've played both games before the season hits the halfway point.

I don't think that ever happens anymore, by design. The schedule is intentionally back-loaded for division showdowns. There are only three teams that have played three division games so far, and all play the second matchup in the back half of the schedule, almost all of the games in the final month.

Yeah, bad scheduling and not that hard to fix. Play one meeting before the end of October and the rematch in the final four weeks. Teams change as the season evolves.

That 1983 Oilers squad was one of the worst in history. Not just a 2-14 record but losing but tons of points 2-14. Same with the 1983 Bucs. Just awful.

If nothing else, Kansas City's early success shows the value of second-half turnovers and second-half timeouts. In an era where points and yards are cheap, where average quarterbacks lead monstrous fourth-quarter comebacks, the ability to control the ball and the clock goes counters to this trend -- but could be even more effective.

The Chiefs have only played one medium-to-elite QB so far (Romo. Not counting 2013 Eli) and they won that game by a single point with a debatable call.

That might not be unrealistic. Would that be seen as a disappointment, given the start, or would people be able to step back, remember the disaster that was the last two seasons and realize that making the playoffs a year after being the worst team in the NFL is a pretty amazing turnaround even if they lose in the first round of the playoffs. This wouldn't exactly be like what happened when Marty was there.
