Browns gonna need like 2 feet on 4th down. Any call other than QB sneak is bull****.

Going for it rather than taking the relatively short field goal and extending the lead to four points was the bigger mistake, but Williams the defensive coordinator bailed out Williams the interim head coach.

I just dont get that thinking.
Make 4th and 2 feet and the game is over. Denver had no time outs.

To say that is wrong call is preposterous

Broncos down four with < 6 minutes left, and they kick the FG on fourth and one? That's the sort of call that gets you fired.

The thinking is quite simple. The Broncos have a decent kicker. You make them drive for a touchdown with no time outs instead of a field goal.

Handing off to a back who was over 100 yards on the day doesn't strike me as nearly such a mistake. One of the guys up front simply got his butt kicked. It happens. The choice to take the risk clearly didn't pay off.

You called it a "bigger mistake". Just because it didn't work this time doesn't make it a mistake at all.

Didn't realize Baker Mayfield is the only rookie QB with a passer rating north of 80. And even he trails Nick Mullens. Maybe Elway made the right call passing on a QB this year.

If I'm Oakland I let the Raiders play in the Coliseum in 2019. Rent is $250k per loss.

QB Ratings as rookies

Peyton Manning 71.2
Brett Favre 85.3 (1st full season) 72.2 the following season
Drew Brees 76.9
Matt Ryan 68.5

Think you may have to wait more than one or two seasons before deciding who's good and who's not.

You are probably correct - it just irritates me how much hype surrounds 1st round QBs. Seems like many start modestly and never quite get to the next level and they're gone before you realize it.

Hell - I didn't know Matt Schaub was still in the league.
