Catching up on this thread I never thought I'd consider a reason to root for the Patriots...almost got me OOP

Seriously, I was coming back from the gym for the final 2-3 minutes and listening to the Patriots broadcast because...I got XM and why not...and man...Scott Zolak is a clown and the joy I got off hearing him call a Patriots loss is even greater than the normal joy I get from a Patriots loss...and I get a LOT of joy from the Patriots losing.

Nick Mullens has composure. Not saying he's better than any of the 5 selected this year, but he's got something. He made a couple of great throws late that his receivers just dropped that would have made his star shine even brighter.

I dunno. His road performances are not good. He's clearly got enough talent to hang around the league but I don't see an every week starter or anything. A solid No. 2

Might be one of those guys, though, that you wonder what he could be with a couple of years to develop in the right system. He'll go back to the bench when Jimmy G comes back next year, and probably stay there for as long as he's in San Francisco. Give him another year's worth of starter reps to work out the kinks you mentioned and maybe he could be a viable starter down the road.

If I would ever watch a Steelers game with him, i believe I would be looking for a mute button fast - and not for the game itself.

He already is. He's right on pace to match Kaepernick's 2015 season.

Give the Steelers' coaching staff credit. They actually had a decent plan against the Patriots for once. I still think they got a little pass-happy at times, especially given how well Samuels was running, but the defensive game plan in particular was solid.

I still don't understand starting Artie Burns. I'm fairly certain he was the one who should have stuck with Hogan on the early touchdown pass. It was a little tough to tell, but the fact that the Steelers yanked him from the game after that sure seemed to be a strong indication that Burns blew it again.

The same is true of Boswell. Yes, he came through on the 48-yarder, but I still don't see how the Steelers can trust him. He missed from 32 and he has been horrible all season.

I'm still stunned, but happy. The Steelers did a nice job on those last few plays and Brady actually looked human on the final two possessions of the game. The interception to Haden was the kind of mistake you never see from Brady, certainly not against the Steelers. I caught Ryan Clark's breakdown of the fourth-down play with 20 seconds left and I thought it was a good one. Brady bailed on the throw even though it didn't seem like any of the pass rushers were close enough that he had to do it. Rather than firing the ball into Edelman's gut, he sailed it a little. Give the Steelers credit for making Brady feel pressure so often in the game, but that's still the type of play Brady usually makes.

I'll certainly take it. This looked so much like previous losses to the Patriots, right until that final play. It's great to see the Steelers finally pull one of these out.
