So, if Seymour never does report, are the Raiders just screwed or do they have some recourse with the league?

They'll save whatever money they were supposed to be paying him, I guess.

I believe it would void the trade. As I recall, a trade is not complete until all parties report to their new teams.

Thank you. That's what I was wondering about, but I'm not sure how it works. If I wish somebody on the Raiders had the brains to tell Seymour to go **** himself and void the thing.

Good to see the Lions have cemented Matt Stafford's status as "The Next David Carr."

Or any Lions QB of the last 50 years. Jim Schwartz will go down in flames for this. Not his fault though. He has nothing to work with. But when he goes 2-14, 5-11, and 8-8 and Stafford plays like a bum, he's gonna be looking for a new job.

Schwartz probably has better job security than any of the other rookie head coaches. He'll get at least 3-4 years before he has to worry about his job.

Exactly why he should be starting Daunte Culpepper. This is one of the few things Marvin Lewis has done right in Cincinnati. He knew from Day One that he'd have to be very bad to get fired after one season. So he sat Carson Palmer for the first year to let him learn.

There's no gain to starting Stafford. The Lions aren't going to be a playoff team this year. Bottom line. There's a much bigger chance he turns into David Carr than Matt Ryan.

There's no chance he turns into Matt Ryan because he has no supporting cast. No defense, no line, no special teams playmakers, no No.2, 3, or 4, wide receiver.

Not so sure about the Steelers -6. Santonio Holmes is hurting. Lawrence Timmons, one of two new starters on defense, won't play (high ankle sprain). Plus, for all their talk about avoiding a Super Bowl hangover, I think Pittsburgh is at least going to need a punch in the mouth before it gets going.
