2022 NFL coaching carousel

This will affect the coaching carousel. Will Michigan give Harbaugh a contract equal to that of Mel Tucker. I don't think Harbaugh stays in Ann Arbor on his current contract.

I saw that David Culley is out after today. Supposedly Nick Caserio has had a Josh McDaniels for longer than four hours and not sought medical attention.

Didn't he take a pay cut at the end of last season? He has leverage now and is looking for that payday.

This isn't a coaching change, but Steelers' GM Kevin Colbert is reportedly stepping down after the 2022 Draft. Colbert has been in the job since 2000. Some versions of the report have him retiring. Colbert is 65 and he is a Pittsburgh native, but there have also been rumors that he might actually take another GM job. The Steelers are known for their stability at head coach, with only three of them since 1969, but Colbert has provided that in the front office for a long time.

The guess is that they will promote from within, either Brandon Hunt or Omar Khan. Khan is more of a cap guru, while Hunt is their scouting coordinator. The thinking is they wouldn't have Colbert running things through the draft if he wasn't working with the next GM already.

I read he went from being one of the highest paid coaches making seven million to four million. Mel Tucker just got ninety-five million for ten years.

Harbaugh went to the CFP, not Tucker. I think he can now get as much.

I think if Seattle trades RW, Pete won’t want to start a rebuild at age 70……

Do any of these 4-5 teams get your attention if you’re wanting to make a move?

If I’m Bieniemy, I’m staying pat until Andy hangs it up.
I think he’s essentially been told that if he waits him out, that the job will be his.

Steve Ross is not a good football owner - I am surprised I've heard nothing about Michigan putting together an extension for Harbaugh since the "rumor" of his NFL interest was floated. I think both Flores and Fangio are victims of somebody else making some bad decisions in terms of QBs. I honestly don't think anyone expected better than 7-10 from the Broncos with the QBs on the roster, but I get it. A new GM who wants his own hire and Fangio's contract is probably at a point where you have to extend him or fire him to avoid having him be a lame duck - and he hasn't earned an extension.

I'm worried the Raiders might keep the Gruden bunch together. And to be fair, I think they did a hell of job keeping the team together down the stretch when I'm sure a few were looking for other gigs in their spare time.
