It's not the going to Australia, it's the coming back. My personal experience was that the return trip wrecked me for days once back on Eastern Daylight Time. My advice is to see who the Rams and 49ers are playing in Week 2 and bet them heavily.

If they're going to do this, then Wednesday/Thursday in Week 1 is the optimal spot for it, right? It gives them a couple extra days in either direction to adjust as best they can.

Maybe the underreported story of the week: The NFL is in real-time conversation with broadcast partners' rules officials. Yes, in the end, the call was corrected. I'd be more comfortable though if the NFL just had someone monitoring the broadcast and tweeted out rulings explanation en masse when there is confusion, then exchanging DMs with someone in the broadcast booth.

Odd stat I just saw while looking something up on Pro Football Reference.
The Ravens are about to play their 30th season. In their history, they've only had seven players make a field goal for them.

In a league that cycles through kickers like people change underwear, that seems pretty remarkable.

Expansion Browns got to keep the past Browns' history in the deal that gave them the new franchise at the price of not suing Modell into oblivion. Theoretically, the Ravens are the expansion team.
