NFL Week 6 Thread

The Week 5 thread will be finished as soon as the Steelers game kicks off, so why not get a head start on talking about teams not quarterbacked by a dog killer.

I fully expect the Bears to lose to the winless Lions.

Otherwise, The Falcons and Saints play Thursday as undefeated Atlanta draws another ****ty team. Although these teams tend to get involved in shootouts.

Chiefs-Vikings should be terribly boring.

I like the Bills' chances to hand the Bengals their first loss.

It will be interesting to see if the Browns' suddenly potent offense can do anything against the Broncos.

The Seahawks draw the unbeaten Panthers in what is pretty much a must-win situation if they want to have any chance at catching the Cardinals.

The Ravens-49ers is likely to be a ****ty rematch of a recent Super Bowl.

And, of course, Brady against the Colts for the first time since Deflategate. The Colts could really use Luck in this game, but it might not matter.

If anyone cares, the Eagles and Giants play Monday night.

By the way, that Monday night game Sunshine wanted to skip is competitive, if ugly. The Steelers just took the lead on a 70-yard interception return for a touchdown by Antwon Blake.

Yup, it's not even debatable. Weeden has yet to win an NFL game in 11 tries. Cassel won 11 games in his first season of starting QB duties. He's thrown for 15,000 yards (compared to 6,000 for Weeden), he has a higher completion percentage, higher TD percentage and lower INT percentage than Weeden, and has a career rating of 80.0, compared to 74.6 for Weeden.

I mean, they both suck, but Cassel is clearly the better option.

So I've been thinking what would be the most entertaining (for me) outcome of the Colts-Pats game and while out admiring neighborhood foliage just now it came to me. The Colts must win, and then it should be discovered they cheated their asses off. Something really flagrant like giving Gostkowski a lopsided football for the potential game winning FG. The ensuing explosion of hot takes would be the greatest sports comedy ever. Probably Bayless would die of apoplexy on the air.
