Huge holding call turns the momentum in St. Louis. The Rams had just failed on a fake punt, with the throw falling short, and Roethlisberger hit Heath Miller for what would have been a first down near the Rams' 40. I have no idea if it was the right call because the broadcast never showed a replay, but the timing made it important. Two plays later, Roethlisberger chucked a ball up for grabs and it was intercepted. Rams drive for a field goal to cut Pittsburgh's lead to 9-3.

This could be yet another Pittsburgh game with high passing yardage totals. Both teams are defending the run well, but both are struggling against the pass.

That possibility may have just ended along with the Steelers' season. Roethlisberger just took an ugly shot on his knee and he's down. Does not look good.

For some reason, they let him walk off the field with help, but now he is being carted to the locker room.

Of course they did. It needs an MRI before he plays again. It might just need rest.

Vick looks horrible. Held one ball too long, taking a sack and fumbling, but Bell recovered. Just threw a ball right into the hands of a Rams defender, but it was dropped. It is a very tough spot to put him in, but he looks unprepared, which is why he is a lousy option as a backup.

Those who take a team quarterbacked by Ryan Mallett in an Eliminator Pool deserve whatever fate awaits.

Steelers suddenly have to rely on their defense. Rams just got a huge (and correct) pass interference call to set up a field goal and pull within three at 9-6. The offense looks completely helpless without Roethlisberger. I wonder if they could activate Landry Jones.

It would appear so. (Or in my case sound so.) One long TD drive for the Colts, followed by a Mariotta pick to set up another score.

That said, Indy's offense stunk on ice for much of this game. Any other division and I don't think they'd make the playoffs.

Vick looks awful and lost.

He did make one throw. Sure, they came up short of the first down, but they got closer for the field goal and got the clock down to two minutes.

That said, the Steelers are going nowhere with Vick at quarterback.

God I hope they can ride Bell and Williams to a win against Balitmore.
Maybe with Vick, install the wing t or wishbone?

Nice effort by the defense though. Much improved by secondary.

The Rams gave them a lot of help. Kendricks dropped a short one that would have converted a third down and a deep ball. Foles' one interception was a terrible decision. You can't make that throw with a deep safety. That said, I'll certainly take it.

Bell looked good in his first game back, so that is also a positive. Scobee made an important field goal. There were plenty of positives for the Steelers, but none of it matters if Roethlisberger's season ended today.

As I watch Buffalo lead 14-0 over Miami, all that comes to mind...

How is Miami so... average? Wouldn't that be the first or second choice from nearly every free agent? No state income tax. Baby dolls on every corner. I'll never understand how they've been so poor to average for the last two decades.
