Starting to see several college QBs who were considered "not great" all year long suddenly pop up on NFL 1st round mocks. I get it - you need a QB, you get a QB and they are routinely drafted much higher than their actual projected value/ability. At this point though - ability seems to be taking a back seat to cost. You aren't drafting a kid because you think he's the next Elway, Mahomes or even a Tannehill - but because he's cheaper than going out and getting Garrapolo or Jameis for $10-15 mil a year. And you hope he will provide (at least) similar results and give you some cap breathing room for a few years.

No asymptomatic people in everyday society are tested daily like NFL players are. If anything, it shows how rampant the virus still is, and how effective vaccines are. But to be forced to miss games when you basically are healthy seems silly.

Stopping the spread though? **** ain't happening, no matter what we do.

This is a good point. These guys are all tested regularly. Out in the real world, people get tested only if 1. They feel like ****. 2. Have been exposed to someone they know was/is covid-positive. If you feel fine, you're not gonna get tested.

This is true, and of course they are in very close contact with each other at least six days a week, meaning one case equals franchise-wide community spread.

Which quarterbacks are you seeing in first-round mocks who didn't have great college seasons?

I've seen quite a few mocks with only two quarterbacks in the first round. Kenny Pickett is usually one of them. He had a great season, though I certainly understand why many don't have a first-round grade on him. He didn't do anything special until his senior season, when he had every advantage. He had a veteran offensive line and a deep, talented group of skill players led by arguably the best wide receiver in college football. He also played in a conference with very few defenses that were even decent.

I get your overall point. Pickett should probably go late in the first round or early in the second, but he is going to be overdrafted. He might even go in the top 10.
