I don't think the Watson trade was his decision. I think that was the owner. Haslem is enough of a jackass to fire a GM for doing what he was told to do, but I can't argue with him not doing it.

Maybe he gets credit for the strong draft they had this season. Their top two picks look like they are going to be cornerstones of the defense for a long time. Judkins made an impact at running back. If you don't like Sanders, supposedly the owner pushed that selection as well.

That said, yes, I'm all for the Browns continuing to do the things they have been doing, especially being undone by their owner's worst impulses.

You spend all that scratch to fire Carroll after one year? Even McDaniels got to Year 2. I think the Niners (Harbaugh-Tomsula-Kelly-Shanahan) were the last team to do four guys in four years.

You can't pin the Watson trade on the GM. It was clearly Haslam, who's one of those owners that will always **** up a good team.

Teams as bad as the Raiders and Jets aren't being "outcoached." It was really such a convoluted hiring to begin with. I understood Carrol wanting another crack after Seattle. But establish a winning culture, then step aside? I hope DC Patrick Graham finally ends up with a team that has some players on the defensive side, he made their defense a hell of a lot better than the talent they had.
Arizona confounds me. I really thought they'd make a move up this year.

The Browns have done a lot of dumb things but this would be an all-timer. Deion has undeniable marketing and recruiting skills, neither if which are really necessary in Cleveland.

On the other hand, Deion is not around Boulder that much, spending a lot of time at his ranch in Texas, and largely delegates day to day operations. I don't know how much of that is related to his health struggles.
