I'll say it again: It's a colorful world yet the Kings show up in black and white (and gray).
There are few things in this world that would make me happier than the Kings returning to the purple and yellow with the crown.

At this point, I'm settling for the crown.

I just joke about the B&W Kings because my friend -- longtime-missing SJ member Birdscribe -- insists on referring to the Ducks as "the SoCal JV team."

Caps looked slow and undynamic again.

I suspect a solid season, a good playoff seed, and an early exit.

Could only watch the last 30 minutes or so. Not making any judgments off one game, other than I'm certain extending Carlson would be a huge mistake. He's absolutely slow and has lost his edge. I also am fairly certain this is Ovechkin's swan song, regardless of what he says. Swayman was pretty good last night.

Red Wings make a bold early bid for "worst team in the league" honors with a thunderous 5-1 turd dumping at home to the throughly mediocre Canadiens. The Red Wings teevee commentators are mumbling and stumbling over "encouraging things you can say after this."

If this keeps up, the Yzerplan won't make Thanksgiving.

Was talking to a Red Wings fan from Detroit at work yesterday. He was talking cautious optimism, about how they probably wouldn't make the playoffs but he was expecting to see significant improvement and there's hope on the horizon.

As a Blues fan, I may see if he wants to go get a liquid lunch after last night.

Go Kraken.

Very efficient performance last night. Hang on and wait for a mistake. The Ducks made two and the Kraken put them both in. On the go-ahead goal, Brandon Montour abused Troy Terry twice and delivered a perfect pass to Mason Marchment streaking in alone down the slot. Helps to have standout goaltending by Joey Daccord. Near the end of the first period, the shots were 17-4 for the Ducks. Similar discrepancy through two. Evened out more in the third.

I said after that first period that it was a miracle it was 1-1. The Ducks were doing just about whatever they wanted. God bless Joey Daccord.

That kid Sennecke was all over the ice. I felt like I heard his name a hundred times when the puck was near the net.

Always hoped the Ducks, with all of their recent high draft picks, could get a guy who comes in and lights it up right away. We always hope .....

Two games, two leads lost late. Gonna be another long season in the Shark Tank.

I watched. The Ducks would have won easily if they used their real goalie. GEEZUS, Reaves even scored on Mrazek. Reaves is still in the league!!! That might tell you why it will again be a rough season for the Sharks.

Shaky third but old man Talbot carried Wings to 3-2 win at Toronto.
Leafs out-shot Detroit 40-15.
Lucas Raymond left in second with upper body injury. That's a big concern.

Like Larry Murphy's analysis a lot but if he said tonight this afternoon once, he said it 15 times.
It's common (seemingly) in hockey, but still annoying after a while.

This bridges back to the offseason thread, but ...

There was a lot of hand-wringing over FanDuel Sports Midwest cutting John Kelly from Blues' play-by-play duties and going with a radio/TV simulcast.

At least so far, that hand-wringing seems to be warranted. Caught bits and pieces of 2 of their games on TV so far. Color guy Joey Vitale keeps saying things like, "Look right here ..." and "You can see here ..." Like, a lot.

If I'm tuning in on the radio, Joey, no I can't look right here and I can't see here.
