As bad as the Red Wings’ current streak of futility is, it was worse from 1979-80 to 1982-83. For four consecutive seasons they missed the playoffs when it was a 21 team league and 16 made the playoffs

Thanks for the clarification! I got my faulty info from some PredWings. LOL Looking at the stats, I can see that. Yeesh.
Found this on my dive. It's from ClickOnDetroit, who got their info from NHL.com

Ducks lose to the Wild, 3-2, their eighth loss in the last nine games (last game is Thursday in Nashville).
The Wild sat 10 regulars and brought up players from the Iowa Wild to fill out the roster.
NOTE of NOTE: Iowa is coached by ex-Ducks coach Greg Cronin, who is well aware of how to coach the Ducks to lose.

Another stat that Ducks fans are hoping for: They lost 9 games in a row in Dec.-Jan. But they immediately followed that up by winning 7 in a row, lost 2, then won 4 more in a row.

Do you still mail it in these days? Maybe text it in. Whatever. The Wings took the last night off, losing 8-1 to the Panthers
I mean, tonight doesn't matter, but the last six weeks of the Wings season just disgusted me. Been a month since I've been able to watch the Red Wings without getting angry, and since I won't have to worry about that until October, I have a stunning amount of contempt for every part of the organization: ownership, Yzerman, coaching, on-ice 'leadership,' development. To hell with all of them.

I'd say blow it all up, but that's why they're in this position in the first place. 10 years ago, they decided to blow it all up while TB, BOS and eventually FLA became some of the strongest organizations in hockey and they've spent most of the interim embarrassing themselves chasing after them.

At a post mortem a few years ago Yzerman said “I’m not worried about Tampa, Boston and Toronto. I’m worried about Buffalo, Montreal and Ottawa.” Three teams who have passed the Wings en route to the playoffs

So the only thing left to decide tonight is who gets home ice in the Oilers-Ducks series?

Actually no. Any of the Oilers, Ducks and Kings can finish second, third or WC 2.
If the Kings win, Oilers lose and Ducks lose in OT, Kings get second, Ducks third and Oilers get Colorado.

Celebrini ends season with a goal and two assists in Sharks 6-1 win at Winnipeg. Ends season with 115 points, breaking previous team record of 114 by Joe Thornton. Celebrini lives with the Thorntons.

So, Bones spoke his mind Tuesday, then Thursday.
A few things ... Waddell is looking at a bunch of UFAs and RFAs. Several major decisions. We'll see.
Sign Charlie Coyle right now.
Boone Jenner has out-lasted his usefulness, though he'll get his sweater retired based on nothing more than longevity.
Though a highly-skilled player, Kent Johnson needs to be moved to Europe where he can score 60 goals in half as many games, hit no one, and ignore a system.
Elvis? Gone. He's stunk for at least three years.
