Fox gone.

Now the Bears begin the search for the next McVay.

Schefter better sure as **** hope Gruden takes OAK.

Schefter is just saying "all signs point" to Gruden returning. That can easily be walked back if it doesn't happen.

FWIW, this is from Jerry McDonald of BANG, he goes back further with Gruden and is closer to him than any other reporter.

Gruden to Raiders story makes sense this time around

The difference was the same people who told me previous Grumors were nonsense were onboard with the possibility this time. With owner Davis moving so quickly to fire Del Rio, it would be a major surprise if Gruden wasn’t the subject of his second introductory press conference, with the first one coming 19 years ago.

Harbaugh?
I doubt it. I don't think a GM would want to hire a big name like Harbaugh he would have the leverage to potentially get Pace fired. If HArbaugh came to Chicago I think he would want control of player personnel and Pace would wind up reporting to Harbaugh.

Remember the management principal of hiring the least qualified man. IF you hire the least qualified guy then he will be grateful to his boss and not threaten him. Hire the most qualified man and he may challenge his boss.

The most famous example in sports is when Paul Brown passed over Bill Walsh to name their offensive line coach, Bill Johnson, as head coach.

This is the type of guy the Bears will hire. NFL experience but none as head coach so he won't command big salary.

Report: Cardinals interested in interviewing Steelers assistant coach Mike Munchak

The Cardinals really do love Steelers' assistant coaches. They apparently want to interview Pittsburgh offensive line coach Mike Munchak, who had a 22-26 record as head coach of the Titans from 2011 through 2013. I think Munchak is a hell of a position coach. Maybe the second shot as a head coach can work out.

The Cardinals' last two head coaches were former assistants with the Steelers, though Arians had been let go by Pittsburgh and had success as offensive coordinator and interim head coach with the Colts before the Cards hired him. Before that it was Ken Whisenhunt, who went to Arizona after losing out to Mike Tomlin for the Pittsburgh head coaching job.

Vance Joseph somehow makes it to another season. Super Bowl-winning team two years ago goes 5-11. Loses eight games by double digits. Eight-game losing streak is longest in 50 years. Shut out loss for first time in 25 years. Sure, come on back.

They basically fired all his coaches, right? Looks like they're setting him up for a fall.

He's cheap and the Duke can control him. But no one is happy out here with this move.
