Figures. I took Cabrera first in my draft on Sunday.

I wouldn't panic just yet. It really does sound minor, though I'm expecting him to at least start the season on the DL.

I don't think the injury is a big deal. Doesn't even sound like a DL stint will be needed if he only needs two weeks to recover.

I'm a little concerned that it could affect his focus at the plate as he has to put more effort into getting reacquainted with third base, and a shot to the face might put his attention more squarely on his defense.

In the end, he'll probably still be the same old Miggy (hopefully, even a little better with Fielder in the lineup), but after the season I had last year, my first reaction is instant pessimism.

For fantasy purposes, it also means it will be another couple of weeks before he picks up third base eligibility.

The ESPN guys said he's expected to miss a week. I'm guessing he starts the season at DH for a week or two.

With Fielder behind him, I'd expect he gets less intentional walks this year.

I put in a waiver claim on Holland but didn't get him. If Soria hadn't gone down, I probably would have. I put in the claim right after the draft. The guy who got him had Soria and I'm assuming he wouldn't have tried to pick him up otherwise.

Yeah. The luster has faded a bit, and they only ever won the one championship, but he was still the offensive face of one of baseball's most successful franchises for well over a decade. That he is so strongly identified with those Braves despite not being a pitcher is an accomplishment in itself.
