I wouldn't panic just yet. It really does sound minor, though I'm expecting him to at least start the season on the DL.
I don't think the injury is a big deal. Doesn't even sound like a DL stint will be needed if he only needs two weeks to recover.
I'm a little concerned that it could affect his focus at the plate as he has to put more effort into getting reacquainted with third base, and a shot to the face might put his attention more squarely on his defense.
In the end, he'll probably still be the same old Miggy (hopefully, even a little better with Fielder in the lineup), but after the season I had last year, my first reaction is instant pessimism.![]()
I hear you. I've got him in a keeper league. Also have Soria in that league, so yesterday did not make me happy.
Ouch, yeah, that's not good news.
If you want to feel better about your draft, I used my last two picks on one guy who is retired (Javier Vasquez) and another who is hoping to catch on as a backup (Juan Pierre) without realizing it. I put in my first two waiver claims about 15 minutes after the draft.
