Has to be 1980. That was Griese's last season. He only played five games and finished 61-of-100 passing for 790 yards, which are his stats here. Be a hell of a coincidence if he had those exact stats at some point in another season.
Pastorini's stats also line up with his final 1980 stats. He was benched early that year for Plunkett, who is also on the passing leaders list.

Also, Cappelletti didn't play for the Chargers until 1980, but he is listed for them in the rushing stats. It was also the only season that Jim Smith caught over 30 passes for the Steelers. He has 31 on the stat page.

Commander fans have had have to suffer many indignities in the Dan Synder era. Surely the worst indignity is going from Jon Madden and Pat Summerall announcing games to the Chris Myers and Mark Schlereth on the "call".

Myers opened the game by explaining all quarterbacks manage a game, some just do it better than others. What a profound insight.

Chris Meyers has the **** Stockton career path.
****ty, monotone, utterly forgettable except for the mistakes broadcast.

Yet it's super lucrative.

Sam Ehlinger could challenge for the most ineffective NFL quarterback start before this one is over.

8:45 left in the half, and the Colts have 1 yard of offense.

How the Colts won three games is beyond me. Today anyway they sure look like they won't win any more.

He was "benched" because he couldn't play on the broken leg he suffered in the fifth game of the season. Although, I think the fans were screaming for Plunkett already and that injury ended up being fortuitous for the Raiders.

Well, there's another rabbit hole. Dan Pastorini. He married a Playboy centerfold model, June Wilkinson. She was British. They had a child and later divorced.

I come not to defend Stockton. Everything you way of him was true. While Stockton could blather Meyers utters exponentially more inanities than Stockton.

40 years ago, Stockton was an A-list pbp guy. NBA finals for years, and other big time games.

Meyers has never done anything of note, including sports talk radio.
