NFL Week 8: That one Vikings-Browns game

Minnesota and Cleveland is the latest London game this week, which reminded me of one of the memorable games of my youth.



Week kicks off with a game that deserves a Thursday time slot -- Dolphins-Ravens.

Not a lot to choose from, but the Bears will try to reach the elusive .500 mark against the Saints. This being the John Fox era, they almost certainly will get blown out in the dome.

Chargers-Patriotsand Raiders-Bills should be good games, but the only marquee matchup is Cowboys-Skins. Perhaps Zeke's last game of the year.

Sunday night is Steelers-Lions. Has potential.

Monday night is Chiefs-Broncos.

Hate that they now start these London games at 1 pm ET. The whole novelty was that we had 10 am games (or 7 am on west coast) and so could have breakfast with football. Now they're just another 1 pm game.

Even if Elliott receives his six-game suspension after this Sunday, the Cowboys would still have three games left when it ends, so, unless they totally flop and are out of the playoff race, he'd probably still come back.

At least it's something. Inman has been the forgotten man in LA with Allen back, but he played well last year. Have to give Trubisky some potential weapons and it's a start.

That announcement came the day JuJu Smith-Schuster returned to full practice. He is still in the concussion protocol, but that was certainly a positive step.

The two bits of news could be related, though Tomlin is stubborn enough to sit Bryant even if they were down another receiver this week. I don't really care why they did it. I'm glad they took some action while still refusing to cut the guy loose.

On the down side, Marcus Gilbert and Stephon Tuitt did not participate this week. I'm guessing they both sit Sunday night.

Starting to wonder if the Ravens will clean house and fire Harbaugh at the end of the year, even if they just gave him an extension. The real problem might be their scouting, though, which has been terrible.
