Landry not only wore the number, but he was the 11th pick --and first QB taken -- in the 1968 draft. He had some decent years with the Lions, but like too many QBs who will eventually be forgotten by history, he spent time in Chicago. He also was the inaugural starter for the USFL's Chicago Blitz.

Anyway ...

Another crappy division matchup kicks off the week with Dolphins-Bills.

Nothing special in the early Sunday matchups, but some interesting games later in the afternoon.

The Saints should score about 7,000 points against the Raiders.

It'll be interesting to see if Luck and the Colts can hang with the Patriots

And on paper, the primetime games should be great, but we may end up seeing three backup QBs between Steelers-Ravens and Bears-49ers.

The AFC West should be wrapped up by 5:30 p.m. MST Sunday, if not sooner.

Colts-Pats is a fantasy owner's dream. Luck picks up where Peyton left the rivalry. Thinking that one gets into the 30s.

Hey, the Steelers haven't blown this game yet. This thread is premature.

So this is how YGBFKM has been starting every weekly NFL thread. Does this obvious cheating tarnish his legacy?

I normally wait a few seconds after the Monday Night game ends, but this one is over.

Is it my imagination, or do the Thursday night games keep getting worse?

Why do I know the Cowboys will lose to the Browns, thusly making IJAG happy and sad at the same time.

You're out of your ****ing mind if you think that. Teenagers who play Madden and go for it every time on 4th and 20 from their own 25 can still out coach Pat Shurmur.

I've watched just about every Cowboys game this year. Not out of my mind to think they can lose this game. Not by a long shot. Jason Garrett is as equally inept as Shurmur, just in different areas.

The teams that play Thanksgiving day should have their bye week the Sunday before Thanksgiving day.

Jerrah dismisses the idea of Mike Holmgren as coach. It was nice of Holmgren to throw his hat in the ring for a few million, though.

“Of course, Mike Holmgren is a heck of a coach,” Jones said. “But the facts are that Jason Garrett gives us an outstanding chance to be what we want to be. So, there you have it. I wouldn’t comment one way or the other there with Mike.”

The Cowboys actually want to be a bumbling 8-8 laughingstock that can't tell time? It's unanimous then!

If this game was in December I'd say the Browns should be favored.

A very valid observation.

Even in April when the schedule comes out, the NFL is pretty sure some teams aren't gonna be contenders. Those are the teams given Thursday night games (which all teams loathe) later in the season so as not to generate agita and mucho bitching by real contending teams. Thanksgiving games are an exception.

Along those lines, Jacksonville and St. Louis should play each other on a Thursday, in London, every December.
