NFL Week 10 -- Head in the Strouds

As much bad QB play there is in the league this year, let's give a shoutout to C.J. Stroud, who it putting together one hell of a rookie season -- 2,270 passing yards, 14 TD, 1 INT. Only one other QB who has started all of his team's games has thrown as few as three picks: Lamar Jackson.

* That's actually a really good early slate. Houston/Cincy is all of a sudden a very interesting game. New Orleans/Minnesota could be for the inside track at a playoff spot in the NFC. We'll find out if Jacksonville belongs when they play the Niners. Cleveland/Baltimore should be fun as well.

* Seems like Kyler Murray will be back. Atlanta is worth watching simply for the Arthur Smith trainwreck factor.

* Those standalone games, though ... yuck. Seems like Vegas is picking a 20-14 type of game for Jets/Raiders, which won't keep people tuned in on Sunday night.

That was the first time I had labored breathing, from smog on the back nine.

I was at that game at the Coliseum.

Brett Rypien should never play qb in the NFL again. That was an unacceptable performance on Sunday.

A minimum of $500K to cover a single ****ing game. Holy ****. If you gave me that salary, I'd be so happy, I'd broadcast the game naked and standing on my head. (Enjoy that visual, ****ers!!!)

I know I've gone into this on any number of NFL threads, but if anything, Michaels being relegated to the dreck of Thursday is a reminder of how good we had it on SNF. Tirico and Collinsworth turn any game into TNF. And again, I've never liked Michaels personally for a number of reasons and I find it sort of karmic that he's on TNF b/c he finally attempted an end-around he couldn't pull off. But he's fine on TNF and sounds like he could still do SNF. And given his seemingly good health (knock on wood) and ability to backstab anyone and everyone, I wouldn't be stunned if he found his way back on to SNF or Fox. I have to think we're not the only ones realizing how awful Tirico & Collinsworth are.

Unfortunately networks look at it as retaining 95 percent of the audience for 75 percent of the cost and 50 percent of the headache.

Al's not going back to SNF or to Fox. I thought when NBC dropped him for Tirico that he'd go to Fox since Fox had two of the next three Super Bowls. Fox is quite happy with Burkhardt and Olsen and probably would be happy if Brady doesn't come in. 80 percent Al is still miles ahead of Tirico, but Tirico is not going anywhere.
