NFL Week 4 -- A Shot in the Dart

I watched last night because I’m a Jets fan/masochist but for me MNF is typically on the iPad while watching other TV. It’s why I think the Manningcast works — there is football burnout by Monday night.

IIRC, the overlapping games flowed out of a situation a few years ago when one game was postponed to Monday night because of a hurricane or something and they aired them both. Both games had great endings, so when the first one ended you flipped over to the last few minutes of the other and got another rush of instant excitement.
People loved it because both games were fun and were over at a reasonable hour instead of a late kickoff ending well after midnight EST. So the NFL decided to try it again and give people something they enjoyed. But because people are never happy, now they hate it.

I don't care if they were dog**** games - I loved it and wish they would do more MNF doubleheaders. I guess I don't get the downside to having the Jets and Dolphins playing on a Monday night vs. playing on a Sunday afternoon.

If it was that offensive, I could always turn the channel to the season premiere of Below Deck Med or something.

Your occasional reminder of why these guys, even the backups, are pros and you aren't.

Every separate national game everyone can see is one fewer regional game only a fraction can see. Which makes it good. No need to overthink it.
As long as one of the two MNF games is moderately appealing. What you don't want is Jags-Texans and Titans-Falcons.

You people keep mentioning the Titans like you don’t know they have zero prime time games this season. So quit worrying, you have no chance of being involuntarily subjected to them.

We have just entered a month where people submit themselves to jump scares and unspeakable gore in the name of holiday fun. What better ghost tale than the specter of Titans football?
