Is LeBron reaching 50,000 points the closest thing to an unbreakable record?
Yeah I was thinking this exact thought.
Unless they go to 4 or 5-point shots or something, seems this is very safe. Lock if they cut the quarters to 10 minutes.

Is it a record, ir obe of those WWL manufactured record? A great accomplishment, yes.

That’s 50,000 combined regular season and playoffs, mind you. But for all but his first few years, the NBA has had four complete best of seven playoff rounds and even then, the first round winner was only short a game or two.

LeBron’s actual regular season total is something like just under 42K. Still special when compared to the mythical 38,387.

Nolan Ryan, with 7 no hitters and 5,714 strikeouts scoffs at this.
Next active closest in K’s is Verlander, and he’s right at 2,300 behind.
2,300
In the land of 5 2/3 and done, neither of those records come even close.

Exactly the same level of athletic effort required

Bill Wennington, Bulls radio analyst, describing a dunk tonight by Koby White against Orlando ...
"He hammered that hole."

I don’t like Frankenstein stat records but combining regular season and playoff scoring seems fine to me. Unlike rebounds or steals, who scored how many has been tracked to the very beginning of pro hoops.

Ultimately this is meant as a celebration and not a bullet point in contract law. Let people enjoy things.

Back to back games against OKC will, or might, determine who gets the MVP. The Shai “narrative” is strong, but the Joker is the first playground pick until he retires. And even after that.

Both are worthy this year. There isn’t a wrong pick.

Watched the Bucks last night and they just seem to have knocked out in the first or second round written all over them. I have no idea what they’re running offensively and they inspire no confidence defensively.

Not to take anything away from Cleveland, who was impressive in the cool manner in the way they dispatched the Bucks.

I miss Jrue.

Dennis Schroder has been a hell of a pickup for the Pistons, a legit pure PG in the Chauncey Billups mode. Having him on the floor allows Cade Cunningham, who has arrived as a Dream Team-level superstar, to focus on his own offense rather than setting the other players up. For the first time in 15 years or so, the team appears to have a plan, which appears to make sense.
