Oh trust me it is a big deal in the 901. And I am the first to say Memphis has a lot of problems over and above other big cities. But the events that made it way go back generations, well before MLK’s assassination, much less the present day.
I think expansion is an absolute dead-certain lock to happen. They do not want to move anyone.
We'll see. The NBA has been looking into it and they anticipate $8 to $10 million.

They both face the same issues -- not-great attendance in cities with little corporate money, outside of FedEx. They're probably the two least-valuable franchises in the league.
Threadjack here but my son asked me why cities like Nashville and Charlotte are booming and Memphis seems to resemble a rustbelt city like Buffalo despite having FedEx there.
Memphis and West Tennessee as a whole have always had an uphill battle to get their fair of funding. It’s a majority-black big city in a state that is three-quarters white and thus has always been considered dangerous and not worth investing in. And frankly it is easy to forget shoved down in the bottom corner of the state past all the cotton fields. Knoxville to Memphis is a good six hours drive time.

As a native Nashvillian it's my birthright to make fun of Memphis; however, I too found that the headlines and blowback don't match the substance of what LBJ said. He needs to try harder next time.
The Memphis-Nashville rivalry distracts from the fact that their rivals are in the other 93 counties imposing Evangelical Sharia law and ruling the cities like hostile colonies.
Nashville's reputation is for country music but its financial foundation is a combination of legacy companies in the insurance and health care fields (for example, the largest hospital firm in the world is based there) while from what I understand, Charlotte's bread's been buttered by the banking industry for decades.
I have long thought that K.C. is the next logical place for the NBA to expand. No hockey team to compete and my understanding is that the arena works for the NBA. I think Tampa would make sense but am unsure if the Austin would be a great market but I don.t think any of the arenas are suitable for the NBA.
Green Bay is the ultimate example of a small city that can fill an NFL stadium, U think that you can attract season ticket holders from a wider region for an NFL tea, The games are generally on Sunday and people will drive further eight times a year than they will for a Wednesday night game.
