The 'best team in the NFL' is currently getting whooped in Arizona of all places. Granted it's only the second quarter, but Arizona 14, Chicago 0 is what I love about the NFL.
Last week: Rex Grossman for MVP! (2 picks, 1 fumble against a poor D)
Last week: 86 bears d or 2006 bears D?

Reality: Parity rules.
This week, the ****ty teams decided to show up.

Arizona could go on to lose this game, but they are definitely going to ruin a team or two down the road.

Biggest puzzle: Miami. WTF? Anyone? SI had them as the Super Bowl champs ...

Not really week 6 here, amigo.

Just used 2 qtrs to think bigger picture.

Great to have the NFL back.

Yeah, parity...not like a team that lost 119 games three years ago could ever make it to the World Series

Great to have the NFL back? Where did it go?

Sorry dude but I think football fans can come up with a reason every single week why parity rules.

Why, yesterday you could have pointed out that three dog-ass winless teams won. Viva la parity!!!!

Edit: Spnited rocks! :D

um... the monday night game is still part of week 6, isn't it?

yeah, and what team was the last team to take more than a game from the tigers when it really mattered? parity!

Have you heard of this thing called the NFL Week 6 Running Thread?

It's pretty cool. You should check it out.

Yeah, but he had the Vick thread zapped, so he had to try and start another one. When at first you don't succeed ...

And another reason why the NFL doesn't rock:

The Bears' loss doesn't mean a thing.

And neither would a loss next week, and another loss next month, and another loss the month after that. Just get in the playoffs. 15-1. 13-3. 11-5. 10-6. Whatever.

If there's no real reason to even be nervous or upset when your team is losing . . . your sport doesn't rock.

Sounds like a 162-game MLB season, or an 82-game NBA or NHL schedule. Didn't the Steelers just play what everyone called a must-win game for their playoff chances, in Week 6 no less?

Do you all hate A_F that much, or are your opinions on the NFL that out of step?

Wait lemme answer: A little of column A, a little of column B.

(And for the record I'm a college basketball guy first, with baseball and the NFL tied for second.)

The Steelers have lost 3 games, one more than the first-place team in the AFC North.

Unless 12-4 doesn't get you a ticket into the playoffs these days, "everybody" was wrong if they considered yesterday's game a "must win."

My point was, the games do matter now. The Steelers needed to win their last four games last season just to make it into the playoffs. The Bears' great start doesn't guarantee them anything with regards to January.

The 1987 Chargers started 8-1, only to lose their last six and miss the playoffs.

The 2003 Vikings started 6-0, only to lose 18-17 in the regular-season finale at Arizona on the last play. They also missed the playoffs.

How did that go again?

Be careful on how you question A_F. He'll accuse of stalking him on a message board pretty soon. I mean, your posts were only 26 minutes apart.

Great call. The Bears really rolled over and played dead...

Oops ... I accidentally bumped this. I swear. My bad.

Well, I'll intentionally bump it... lol

The good teams find a way to win in the NFL. Parity's overrated. **** competitive balance. Now excuse me while I go watch the World Series.
