I agree with you regarding Tomlin, too. I also wonder what happens when LeBeau retires. This is still his defense, not Tomlin's.

When that happens, you'd think the Steelers would go to a full blown Cover 2.

You better hope that doesn't happen.

I forgot that the Cover 2 is the Lovie 2. That said, I hope LeBeau coaches until he's 148.

Just saying what?

That the defensive tone with which you have posted speaks volumes about your guilty conscience.

I mean, if you have to say "I am not a racist" to get people to believe you, you probably are.

And I didn't call BYH or anyone else specifically a racist - but it is clear with defensive and over the top response of someone to my statement that there is at least one person with a guilty conscience in that area around here....

Of course, it isn't a coincidence that some of the loudest Vick haters around here also spend all day talking about how much Vince Young sucks, but we shouldn't read anything into that at all......

Quit with the passive-aggressive ****. We all know what you were saying and who you were saying it to. If you think YGBFKM is a racist, say it. Don't get all cute and semantical. Just say it and let him address it.

To drop little hints here and there, without having the guts to actually call him a racist, is the type of non-confrontational behavior I would expect out of someone who embraced political correctness.

And for the record, I wanted to take a cheap shot at hondo the racist hick today and YGBFKM's bashing of Vince Young gave me an opening to do so. In the process I lumped him in with hondo, which was a mistake for which I apologized, because while the guy has horrible taste in music, wardrobe, football teams, religion and politics, he's not a racist. :D

I never called him scum or evil. I've been pretty consistent with my use of " subhuman piece of ****." It has a nice ring to it. Anyway, it's been fun, zag. With the Bears winning, I needed a couple hours of board nonsense. Until next time ...

What do you think the chances are we'll see Arians get the boot?

I'd be surprised if that happens. Doesn't seem to be Tomlin's style and if he's kept the meathead running the special teams around this long, why would he fire Arians?

I don't think Tomlin really has much say in the matter. He doesn't have that much power within the organization yet. The Raiders were in pass coverage practically the whole game. Lanes were open to run the ball down their throats and chew up clock. Instead, the fourth quarter turned into what it was.

Arians is not going anywhere. He was the offensive coordinator when they won the Super Bowl last year and, more importantly, Roethlisberger likes working with him.

You also have to remember that every time they had the ball in the fourth quarter, they were trailing. In general, though, I agree that they get too pass happy. My issue today wasn't so much with that as it was with them taking Mendenhall out for the entire second quarter.

The one thing that I think gets overlooked when people are ripping into the secondary -- the game wouldn't have been close had the Steelers cashed in more than three points on four trips into the redzone earlier in the game. That speaks to play calling and execution problems.

They mix it in a good bit now, though I can't see them totally going that way at least as long as they have Harrison, Woodley and Timmons at linebacker.

The first drive ended on dropped pass and the second when Roethlisberger lost his footing on a quarterback sneak. I'm not sure how much the offensive coordinator has to do with all of that.

Yes, they blew some chances, but the offense still gave that defense a four-point lead to work with three times in that fourth quarter against a terrible offensive team. They did enough to win. The defense did not.

Well, you know, I thought you were too harsh as well until I came across this photo of Hondo, YGBFKM and five of their best friends......I'm not saying but I'm just saying...... ;D

They could run the Cover Two better than most with Polamalu healthy, but I'm convinced offenses have figured it out. It worked for the Bucs back in the day because they had All-Pros on the line at linebacker and in the secondary. I don't think the Steelers get enough of a consistent pass rush from the line or a strong-enough secondary overall.

Wait a minute - these redzone problems are not new or unique to this team and frankly, to pick out individual plays here and there is being dishonest to try and prove your point.

The first drive of the game, dude returns a kick to the 20 and you run up the middle twice, throw an incomplete pass and settle for a field goal. Not exactly inspired play calling.

Your quarterback throws a bad pick in the endzone - how many of those has he thrown or come close to throwing because you don't have many different plays for him to choose from and teams jump those routes and know what is coming.

And yes, he slipped on fourth-and-one - why was it fourth and one.

If the Steelers come away with 20 points in those four trips - as opposed to three - nobody is talking about the end of the game.

The defense sucks. The offense ain't much better.

I'm still baffled at how they allowed the suckass Raiders to drive 84 and 88 yards on back-to-back drives.

You've lost three in a row and were playing a 3-8 team at home. Yeah, the secondary sucks but where was the sense of urgency?
