When did this whole LeBron is going back to Cleveland bull**** start?

It's not going to happen.

I think he's suggested that he'd like to play there again... Brian Windhorst said he thinks LeBron will play for the Lakers next and eventually end his career in Cleveland...

That's laughable.

LeBron also has made some negative comments about Dan Gilbert. I think at some point he might consider going back to Cleveland-doesn't he still have his house in Akron?- but not with current ownership.

Lot of talk around DC about it being an absolute no-brainer, slam dunk, that the Wizards JUST HAVE TO take Otto Porter at 3, assuming he's there.

I watched probably a 7 or 8 Georgetown games last year. Porter was good, no doubt. But Georgetown's offense bored me to tears. Porter would hang around the elbow, wait for the ball and shoot a jumper. He shot 49% from the field.

Don't the Wizards ideally want to run a fast-paced offense with John Wall and Bradley Beal running things? I'm sure Porter is able to adapt his game, but you NEVER saw Georgetown get up and down the court on a consistent basis. That might worry me.

Just my novice scouting, of course, and I could be totally wrong. And maybe Porter is a no-brainer top 3 pick because of the ****ty draft class. And didn't Boeheim call Porter the best Big East player in the past 20 years?

Porter confuses me. If I'm the Wizards, I might take a chance with Oladipo. Dude shot 60% from the field and has crazy athletic ability. I know he's a guard and the Wizards are seemingly set there, but I think I'd still take him over Porter.

I think they'll take Porter or Bennett assuming the first two picks are Noel and McLemore. I know a lot of teams don't want to take the local kid, but Porter may be a no-brainer at No. 3.

He might be. He just strikes me as a boring kind of player who played however many years at Georgetown in a slow, mind-numbing offense.

Despite playing in that offense, he has all the skills and size NBA teams look for in a wing player. He can both shoot from the outside and take his guy off the dribble, and has an NBA-ready body.

Yeah. From a size and positional standpoint, he's exactly what the Wizards need.

And I have a feeling you've seen a lot more of him than I have, so I definitely trust your thoughts on him. How is he defensively?

Remember... The only person who could hold Michael Jordan under 20 points a game was Dean Smith... :D

He seems solid, but it's tough to project how he'll do in the NBA because he'll be facing more difficult schemes, and, obviously, better players. Almost all young guys struggle defensively to start out. He's definitely capable of being a good defender, though.

Plus, haven't the last couple guys out of Georgetown been at least decent pros? Jeff Green teases with his potential, but he's still a decent reserve with the potential to be an above-average starter if he ever does put it all together. Roy Hibbert is a borderline all-star. Before them, Michael Sweetney showed some promise before eating himself out of the league, and AI was pretty good. (I'm sure there could be a player or two drafted in that timespan though that would invalidate my argument...)

The guy who seems to be getting the most differing opinions is Bennett. I've seen quite a few analysts say he's the most talented player in the draft and other saying he's the biggest risk of the guys in the top 6 or 7 because he's too short to play power forward and too slow to play small forward.

The center in Detroit is playing well.

Gotcha. Thanks. I could be easily talked out of my likely ill-informed opinion of him.

And yeah, Porter does have Georgetown college-to-NBA success going for him.

Most Indiana players have been horse**** in the pros. Isiah Thomas is the biggest exception, Walt Bellamy if you want to go really far back.... Calbert Cheaney had a few decent years, but still had to be seen as a disappointment. Uwe Blab anyone? :D

Hey, now, Jared Jeffries is still in the league, dammit.

And other than Mourning, who did it at the end of his career, not a single prominent Georgetown player has won a title.

I grow so weary of this kind of thinking. If a guy can play, who cares if he fits neatly into some positional box?

That rigid thinking has been the source of so many of the biggest draft blunders. An example from last year's draft is Draymond Green. Green may've been the best all around player in college basketball last year, yet nobody would touch him in the first round because of questions over what NBA position he could play. A year later it's still not quite clear what his exact position is--the Warriors simply use him wherever needed. But one thing has been established--he can PLAY. Many teams now regret passing on Green in the draft.

As for Bennett--he kind of reminds me the Anthony Mason/Larry Johnson type. Scoring power forwards who were technically too short for an ideal power forward, but also had the skils to play the 3 when needed. Those hybrid types might be tougher to pigeonhole into a postional box, but who gives a **** if they can play.

As basketball players, yes, Indiana players have been underwhelming in the NBA. However, Matt Nover proved Indiana players can excel in other professions, not just basketball. Ricky Roe carried that movie.
