NESN reporting a 4-year $36 million deal (since NESN is owned by the Red Sox - I think the deal is done).
So 24 hours ago, Manny Ramirez was about to be traded, we had no shortstop or right fielder, and Jon Lester had cancer.
Pretty good day.
I'm sorry if I'm missing a joke here, but has there been an update on Lester's condition?Evil ******* (aka Chris_L) said:Excellent quote by a poster over at Sons of Sam Horn

Lugo is the leadoff man they thought they got with Coco Crisp last year.

Wasn't the reason he only played 3 or 4 games a week because he was hitting .220, though? I am not convinced that he is the answer for the Red Sox, especially at 4 years and $36 million.
outofplace said:No, he was hitting very well for the Devil Rays and as soon as he got to the Dodgers they started moving him all over the field and sitting him far too often. Being switched from full-time shortstop to a utility player who isn't even in the lineup every day led to his collapse.
