Saw it this afternoon. Quite good, especially the Tarantino segment. It's super-gory, super-sexy, super violent, way over the top...better than "Sin City".

I heard that the one Eli Roth did was ****ed beyond words.

Clocking in at more than three hours, the film is one grand self-indulgence that is calibrated exquisitely for an audience that pines for the gory double-feature format that petered out in the early '70s. That audience can be counted: One, two. Named Tarantino and Rodriguez.

The Eli Roth one is siiiiiiiiiick. Rodriguez's trailer is great -- the money quote is "They ****ed with the wrong Mexican". Rob Zombie's is pretty cool...topless Nazi werewolf chicks. The one done by the "Shaun of the Dead" guys is funny.

Most reviewers seem to have the opposite opinion.

Did they premiere the Rob Zombie Halloween trailer?
Buck said:Our critic liked both segments, although he said it was kind of jarring to go from the frenetic action of the Rodriguez segment to the dialogue-driven Tarantino segment.

Yes. Doesn't look that hot. And why isn't it coming out closer to Halloween?

Hmmm. this makes me sad. I've got high hopes for the Halloween RE-IMAGINING (scoff scoff remake). What was shown?
