Anyone here play? I play on Yahoo, was just looking for any SJers who may want to play some time. PM or post here your yahoo name and we can work out a time to play.

Rusty, I'll definitely play, but I have to warn you I'm absolutely terrible. I'll pm you my Yahoo name now.

I would be embarrassed to ever display my lack of chess skill to anyone. But if we start getting up bridge games from this group, I'll go ahead and file for unemployment now.

I play some, but haven't played in a while. People would probably hate playing me online, though. I try to look at everything and play slow. I'll throw my name in if anyone wants to set up a game, though. Just block off an hour.

Same with cribbage or euchre with me.

Cribbage is great I just wish more of my friends knew how to play; everyone thinks its an old man's game.

I, too, play some mean chess. Someday, I'll tell you all about the two weeks I spent at sleep-away chess camp. Nothing beats a good-night's sleep in a pawn-shaped bead.

It is an old man's game.

But I love it, too. Same with euchre.

Just played three games against Batman. Won the first, but the next two ..... ouch.

Sorry, Jake, but I gotta brag on this...Game 2 featured a four-move checkmate. Game 3 was probably the best of the bunch, though. Quite competitive until he made a bad move and lost his queen at the end.

It's allright. I forgot a pretty basic rule to protect myself from that bishop with a pawn. Game 3 was good, but I think you were on your way to winning without the bad move. I was trying to keep putting you in check and maneuver the queen around to take that rook that was protecting the pawn that became the second queen. If I couldn't do that I didn't have much of a chance.

I'll definitely look forward to playing you again or anyone else from SportsJournalists.com.

A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were
standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse.
"But why?" they asked, as they moved off.
"Because", he said, "I can't stand chess-nuts boasting in an open foyer."

That's all I got!

I won a school championship when I was younger. I still play a bit. PM me if you want my Yahoo addy.

Awful.

Truly horrible.

You go to the box, two minutes, and you feel shame.
