Here me roar

So I reported fraud to Citibank after Christmas and one of my packages never arrived. Wasn't a lot of money but I shouldn't have to pay for a product I didn't get. They provisionally refunded me and contacted the vendor. When that happened the vendor kicked me out an email saying the package was on the way, this was 2 months after I originally ordered it, and sent me a tracking number with UPS. I still have that email. The tracking number shows that they created a label. Never sent anything. However, Citibank got information from the company and decided it was my fault and so they're taking back the refund. I never got the product, and I looked at the paperwork the company sent Citibank, and it basically was my order form. I know I ordered it. That's not the point. And when I forwarded that email with the UPS number that was never used to Citi they didn't even consider it.
I've had this card since 1989. It was my first credit card so I'm not going to close the account. But I'm never using the card again. In all that time I've reported just two cases of fraud on it, which is damn good imo, and the first one they also blamed me. But then they investigated it, refunded the money and sent me a new number because someone had my number.
Clearly I have no fraud protection with Citibank. Spent this morning moving all my automatic payments that go to that card to a different card. Not our main card which we co-use, but the card I use for mad money basically. So I have a Citibank card I'm never going to use again, and they alienated a long-time customer over $47. It's a free card. If I paid an annual fee for it I would cancel it. But since it's a free card, I don't want to close that line of credit I've had since I was a babe in the woods.
In comparison, our main card is a Chase card. Because we use it all the time, it's been compromised three or four times over the years and there's been other instances of fraud. And you know what Chase never does? They never blame me. It's taken care of right away and they will proactively review all the purchases during that statement period usual and flag anything that seems outside our pattern. I never worry about using that card because I know if something goes wonky Chase will make it right.
I can't believe Citibank is so much worse.
