On Attell, I loved his Skanks for the Memories release. Lots of cringy jokes, but found it hilarious.

She was one of the most fiercely competitive athletes I ever covered so her career choice was a surprise to me. I’ve been to a few of her shows. She also has a YouTube series where she plays tennis and tells jokes with other comedians.

I have a former newsroom colleague who spent some time as a standup. He took it seriously, running bits past us as he prepared his sets before he performed at a number of clubs.

He could be the crudest, most obnoxious guy in the newsroom, but he wasn't like that on stage. I saw him perform and while many of the comics on the card were shooting for punchlines, his stuff was more amusing pieces that took some thinking.
