They do have some top prospects arriving soon in McGonigle and Clark who should provide some consistent OBP in the middle of their offense.

The Tigers can’t hit very well either, but at least we are spared another series featuring such luminaries as Chase DeLauter, George Valera, Gabriel Arias, CJ Kayfus and Brayan Rocchio. That’s profane.
How would you feel if you’ve been in the Cleveland outfield all season and they tell you a kid making his major league debut is replacing you in the playoffs

Shildt's done what he thought he had to do with his pitching to keep his team in a position to win.
Bottomline: got to score some runs.

I can't stand the replay I'm watching now. Did he keep his hand on the base. Who' freakin' cares? His hand was on the bag before the tag. Safe call. Plays over. Replay is like a cancer. Never stops growing. That was a VAR call.

Cubs win! Somewhere, my late father is smiling. After a lifetime of disappointment, he finally got to see the Cubs win a World Series at 90 years of age, two years before he passed.

Some considered the plethora of stories about lifelong Cubs fans finally being able to celebrate as a bunch of contrived, overwrought schlock generated by a bunch of nostalgic fans of a sport whose time has passed. (I heard the same after Boston won in 2004). I can tell you that was not the case with Boompa. When they finally won it was one of the best days of his life.

Here's to you, dad. Yes, it got a little dusty at my house when PCA caught the 27th out.

This is the first evening that I'm acquainted with Connelly Early.

I'm sure I'm behind the curve on this.

Through ridiculous connections, I got to go to G3 and G4 of the 2016 World Series. A lifetime memory with my best friend, also a Cubs fan from NC. WGN changed our lives when we each got cable as kids.

I don't have time for it here, but my all-time greatest lived-in sports memory was after that G4 loss in 2016. Cubs lost both games we went to, of course.

But that one moment will live with me forever. I'll try to write about it tomorrow if anyone cares. For now, I'll substitute Goose Island for Old Style and be happy deep into the night.

Bellinger coming up lame could be A Situation.

He still got down the line faster than Giancarlo.

How does a rookie Yankees pitcher get a number like 31 and not something like 87?

Incredible performance.
