Apparently it was quite the popular wrestling venue, no AC so they sold a ton of drinks!
No air conditioning (or the ability to move any air inside the building) also created fog delays when the warm, moist North Carolina spring air created condensation above the ice surface. Also allowing spectators to spend money at the concession stands!

It's like they thought of everything.

Has anyone been as bad as Kyle Freeland for longer? Getting whupped today, fourth consecutive season of 4.98 ERA or higher, 17-45 record, most losses in Rockies history by far. He was never much more than average at any point of his career. I'm sure he'll have some life after this year because he's a grizzled lefty, but he's not heading down the Jamie Moyer path.

I don't think Bernie Parent ever saw Rene Robert's winning goal in Game 4 of the 1975 Stanley Cup finals. The ice surface at the Aud totally enveloped in fog.

Angels ineptitude went from the field to the broadcast booth. Last night's game tied, 6-6, in the bottom of the 10th. The Giants got a bases-loaded fly that landed on the warning track and bounced into the stands. Broadcast signs off with the Giants winning, 8-6, verbally and graphically. Uh, it was really 7-6.

On the field, the Angels' 10th produced this. Peraza is the ghost runner on second. Soler strikes out, (no surprise there) failing to move the runner to third. Grissom gets an infield single, but Peraza stays on second. Meckler flies out to center, Peraza tags up, but is thrown out at third by Grant McCray.

And, pitcher Grayson Rodriguez was awful again. Gave up 5 runs in 4 innings. Somehow, he is 3-3 in nine starts. On the IL twice, 8.54 ERA, 1.79 WHIP. Former Angels GM Perry Minasian traded the team's top run producer, Taylor Ward, to the O's to get Rodriguez.

That turned out to be a sticky scoring situation, though, hard to fault the broadcasters for that. Giants had bases loaded with one out when Devers his a walkoff ground rule double. Runners from second and third both crossed the plate, but it was later downgraded to a single an one RBI, since it was a walkoff.

Hell, the way this season is going, I'll take any W out of these Giants.
