Back on our customary rotation, at least for this week.

1. What is the oldest, continuous conference tournament in Division I college basketball?
ANSWER: The Southern Conference tournament, started in 1948 (FB was paying attention.)

2. In the movie "Apollo 13," Tom Hanks, playing Jim Lovell, shakes hands with the real Jim Lovell, who has a cameo role as a Naval officer. This actor-in-sazme-scene-as-character-he-plays coincidence happens again in which 1996 film?
ANSWER: The People vs. Larry Flynt. The real LF plays the judge in the 1997 obscenity trial in Cincinnati.

3. Who was the first post-World War II major-league baseball player to start the season with a 30-game hitting streak?
ANSWER: Ron LeFlore, 30 games in 1976. He's also the only player to lead both teams in stolen bases.

4. Who olds the New York Mets' team record for lowest career ERA for a left-handed pitcher? (with the Mets only).
ANSWER: Jesse Orosco, 2.73.

5. Who scored the final touchdown for the St. Louis football Cardinals?
ANSWER: It was J.T. Smith, against the Cowboys in Week 16. Stump Mitchell scored the first TD for the Phoenix Cardinals.

MUSICAL TRIVIA BONUS: According to Billboard Top 100, the artists who performed the top five singles in 1969 were the musical legends The Fifth Dimension, the Rolling Stones, the Temptations, Sly and the Family Stone, and what other far-less celebrated group?
ANSWER: The Archies, "Sugar, Sugar."

1996? Still thinking.

2000, though, it was Julia Roberts and Erin Brockovich

My guess on the bonus is The Association.
And Question 1, I believe, is the Southern Conference.

My guess on the bonus is those nuns who did the version of The Lord's Prayer.

When did Blue Chips come out with Nolte and Bobby Knight?

2. People vs. Larry Flint?

4. Jesse Orosco?

5. Ottis Anderson or Roy Green?

5. J.T. Smith vs. the Cowboys in Week 15.

If you're looking for their final game at Busch Stadium, it was Stump Mitchell on a six-yard rush for the TD.

I think the performance of 70's porn icon Veronica Hart as the family-court judge who rules on Amber Waves's custody petition in Boogie Nights is sort of an answer to No. 2.
Also, let us not forget Jim Garrison as Earl Warren in JFK.

True, but the latter doesn't qualify as a "this actor-in-same-scene-as-character-he-plays coincidence." I don't think they were in the same scene together.

On a related note, the real Jay Landsman played another cop (Det. Mello) on "The Wire," while Delaney Williams played "Jay Landsman." And the real Jay Landsman was also the inspiration for Munch of "Homicide/Law & Order" fame.

I just confused myself ...

You guys forgot James Brolin playing P.W. Herman while the real deal portrays a bellhop who pages him.

Yeah, it's a film within a film, but **** it - it counts, dammit!

Bellhop (in ridiculous deep voice): "Paging Mr. Herman, Mr. Herman, you have a telephone call!"
