The anti-draft thread

Sports Journalists Forum – Media, Newsroom & Reporting Talk

So what are the odds that Josh Freeman turns out to be a better NFL QB than either Stafford or Sanchez?

... you did say I could talk about anything I want.

I do not boil ribs.
I either smoke them or slow cook them inside.
Today, I opted for the crock pot.

Turned over all the gardens.
Found an extra Turbodog that I didn't know I had in the downstairs fridge.
This is already a good day.

You're grounded for not paying attention!

I was all over this fact two days ago when she dropped in on the NHL thread.....so I'm NOT grounded, nyah-nyah!

OK. I'll play. Ran errands. Stopped at the wine store and loaded up. The Sur was back! (Sur De Los Andes -- Malbec/Cabernet mix). Also grabbed a Le Grand Pinot Noir (Black Sheep). Best value wine in my arsenal. Working a bit for the next hour and then hitting the farmer's market @ Union Square, after which we'll come back, cook up a feast and eat it on the roof overlooking a little slice of heaven. Life is pretty good.

Just woke up.
Friday night was a rare easy night.
Tonight will be a ******* with all the playoffs and my two best deskers are out -- one because he has to work Sunday before starting his furlough and the other because he is on furlough now.
Gonna have a cheese steak for lunch.
For the record: I just put ribs on the grill then slather 'em with BBQ sauce. They taste good no matter what you do.

Grrrrrrrrr............I'm the Angry Man. Me hates the draft.......gggrrrrrrr

It was funny the first time. You went to the hole once too often.

I cannot get "St. Elmo's Fire (Man In Motion)" out of my head right now. Anyone know a cure?

The lede was buried. "We"?

That for me? If so, yeah, that was burying the lede. As excited as I am about the wine, the we is even better.

No barking from the dog, no smog...

And mom cooked the breakfast with no hog.

Welcome back, Rosie. We needed another flyover country person here. Plus, it was getting crowded, what with no one getting sent to their room to ease the overcrowding.

I punching through a car-related forum trying to answer a question I asked myself and I noticed that one of the posters there referred to "hoursepower."

I had no idea that there are gearheads in Canada.

@dixiehack: Did you bring someone to help you test the mattresses?

Mattress shopping is a sucky way to spend a Saturday, plus I'm still not 100% sure I know what I want.

My mattress shopping experience was about 10 minutes a few months ago.

Mattresschick: Hello, can I help you.
Mrs. Stain: We're looking to buy a bed. We have $600 to spend, no more, and we want the simplest metal bed frame you have.
Mattresschick: Here's the only one in that price range.
Mrs. Stain: We'll take it.

done.

Apparently, the Pens were ahead of me on the nap idea.

2-0 Flyers, just like that.
