I don't even know what to say...

Suspected Taliban militants publicly hanged a 7-year-old boy for spying in the militant stronghold of Helmand province, an Afghan official told the Associated Press.

The child was placed on trial by the Islamic extremist group and later found guilty of working for Afghan President Hamid Karzai's government, the local official said.

Karzai on Thursday condemned the alleged act, calling it a "crime against humanity".

I don't think Karzai's "crime against humanity" line is going to have much impact on a bunch of people who aren't even remotely human.

The Taliban are really bad people? Is this supposed to be some big news flash or something?

I suppose you're trying to imply in your usual disingenuous-troller style that certain people ought to be getting right out there and putting an end to the Taliban, right now, today, but of course OTHER certain people had eight years to put an end to the Taliban and didn't get very much done in that regard, so... what eva

What the **** is wrong with you? A 7-year-old is executed and you want to ***** and moan about YF being a troll and taking a shot at the previous administration. Next time you want to play Mr. Crime and Punishment Tough Guy, just STFU.

You don't think this is astounding? A new low -- even for the Taliban?

As evil as I knew they were, this shocked me.

You can call it trolling, but would you rather ignore ignore this?

I think it's important to realize just how sick some people are.

OK, I guess this isn't news.

Bad = Executing 7-year old.

Maybe we should set up a midnight basketball league for these guys and they'll stop killing 7-year olds.

Hitler and Stalin killed 100 million between them. If you are astounded by anything that's happened in the past 60 years, I can suggest a few good history books to put things in perspective.

How about putting in perspective how sick it is that some people aren't fazed by the execution of a child?

I wonder what the perspective is of the parents who watched their seven-year-old child get abducted from their home and hung in public, which is what happened here. There's your perspective.

What do you want? A child is killed and/or starves to death every day. You happened to find a story about it today. You must have missed the ones who were killed yesterday. And the day before. Whether in Afghanistan or Darfur or China or Paraguay or the USA.

You can either spend your entire life being in a daze over it . . . or not. Since the former is not an option, that leaves only the latter.

Honestly, why do some of you have such a problem with recognizing the pure evil of the Taliban and groups like them.

Did you know that they were capable of murdering a 7-year old? That astounded me.

If I will stipulate that Stalin & Hitler were pure evil incarnate, will you give me your true reaction to this news?

Please. Post a link to an act that was more despicable than this that happened in the last day, week, year?

Looks like the AP's bull**** meter gave at least a couple jingles in the course of running the story, since of course it's entirely possible Karzai's bubble-gum-and-chicken wire government might have some incentive to 'embellish' (aka completely fabricate) the facts.

That said, Taliban = Bad bad bad. We need to kill as many of them as we can as fast as we possibly can.

They've been killing kids for years. This shouldn't come as any shock to anybody.

Sure I did. They killed men because their beards weren't long enough, and women and girls because they dared to have their faces uncovered and go to school where they might learn that they don't have to obey long-bearded men all the time.

Most of us know the Taliban is evil. Interesting thing is, supposedly, the Taliban was trying to pull back on their evil ways because the rest of the population was tired of their bull**** and, thanks to the U.S. and its allies, actually were capable of fighting back.

A New Jersey man threw his 3-month-old daughter off a bridge into an icy river and was charged with her murder.

Wow. That was real difficult.

That's a horrible story.

It's a shame that child didn't get a trial like the child in Afghanistan got. Maybe someone would have objected to her father, Shamsid-Din Abdur-Raheem's plan to throw her off of a bridge.

I think it's wonderful that you were able to find another horrifying story about a child being murdered. I like how you then accessed your sarcastic side while patting yourself on the back for performing a google search related to children, again, being murdered. What a noble thing, comparing the killing of children. You're so brilliant for being able to get over the "daze" of a seven-year-old's murder. Outrage is an important emotion. I think it's appropriate in this particular case. You are very skilled at finding it when discussing airlines or economics. Christ.
