It all depends on the kind of quality they can come up with here, but I have some serious doubts. It could be really cool, I guess, and Lucas will probably do it as "right" as it can be done.

It was clear long, long ago that fans hold these movies in an entirely different light that George Lucas does.

1. Excellent question.

2. Not possible as long as Lucas insists on doing the writing himself.

They only appeal for me is that they will be including deleted scenes from all three movies in the original trilogy. Still not going to be enough for me to want to buy this crap.

It COULD be neat. The pod race from Ep. 1 could be sweet in 3D. The final scenes of Ep. 4, racing through the trench, could be neat in 3D.

But it could be mostly meaningless and often distracting.

I saw that this morning. It will be an expensive summer for me. Not a huge fan of the prequel trilogy, but there's no way I'm not going to see all of them.

You don't expect it to be great, but it doesn't have to be God awful either.

The first two and to a lesser extent, Jedi succeed despite the script. For the prequels it was too much to overcome. Only George Lucas can take a cast of some of the best actors working and make them look like idiots.

I read a story just before Episode I came out where Lucas had given the script to Ron Howard who read it and said it really needed to be punched up and he recommended the guy who does it for his movies.

Lucas contacted the guy, who said he'd be honored to do it and that he gets $500K to do it. That was his standard rate. I guess this guy had punched up Apollo 13 and a couple other Howard movies. Lucas asked him to work for scale and the honor of being associated with Star Wars. Keep in mind, most of the guys who punch up scripts NEVER get a writing credit. The guy told Lucas to **** off.

The result was the most disappointing film of most of our lifetimes.
