Conference tournaments are underway, including the Big Ten going a week early so they can play at MSG.

There were maybe 2,000 people in the stands for the Iowa-Illinois game. Yeah, two awful teams squaring off, but if the game was in the Midwest you would have had a decent crowd just based on the amount of alumni from those schools living in the region.

NYC, not so much.

Was wondering why the Big Ten was trying to beat the Atlantic Sun and the Ohio Valley to being the first team in the tournament.

Will be interesting to see what the week off does to their tournament performance. Just don't see how a 10 - 14 layoff without games is going to be a positive for any of these teams.

This B1G tourney being in New York City is such a ****show that I hope Rutgers wins the whole thing so Jim Delaney has to hand over the trophy in an empty arena to the 14th seed he inexplicably allowed into the conference.

Currently watching Longwood (7-25) and Radford (19-12) in a tie game with 13:12 left in the Big South quarterfinals. Longwood beat like four DI teams this year and may make it to the Big South semis. Why?

THIS IS MARCH.

This **** wouldn't have happened yesterday.

The Big Ten having its tournament at Madison Square Garden is one of the stupidest ideas in recent sports memory. Having it a week early removes the words "one of" from my first sentence.

And even more so because they already had the perfect setup. In Indy it always drew tremendous attendance, and the Final was always that ratings showcase last game of the season on CBS airing immediately before the brackets were announced--the dream time slot. If ever anything didn't need fixin...

Hmm, so how can we ruin it? Step 1, move to a city that doesn't give a **** about Big 10 basketball. Step 2, move it up a week so nobody's paying much attention yet. Brilliant!

Wasn't any better last year in D.C. Big Ten would be well served to beat it back to Chicago or Indy in the future. The ACC tourney in Brooklyn is stupid, too. Rotate the thing between Atlanta, Greensboro, Charlotte and D.C.

The Mizzou fanboi side of me is stoked to see the SEC Tourney is in St. Louis.

The Vol half is ****ing pissed it's not at Bridgestone Arena.

I know why conferences do it - go where the money is. I just don't know how you are supposed to impress sponsors with a half-filled arena.

"NINTH-SEEDED WISCONSIN! FOURTEENTH SEED IN A CONFERENCE WITH THE WORD TEN IN ITS NAME RUTGERS! BIG TEN TITLE! IN NEW YORK FOR SOME REASON! NEXT!"

I think the Big 10 is trying to show that it's not just a "Midwestern" conference. It's like their conference football promo, which starts in Pasadena and crosses the country to New York.

Maybe next year they'll have the tournament in Spokane. Winner of the Big 10 tourney gets Gonzaga to determine a No. 3 seed in the NCAAs.

I am there!:)

What is it about Penn State that makes an otherwise good Ohio State team **** down its leg time and again?

The ACC should never leave Greensboro. Ever.
