Well, I assumed I'd get it, since Comcast is some sort of minority owner. But yet, I've gone through my guide, I've gone channel by channel, and I've looked on comcast.com at all the tiers in my area. Nothing.

Don't get it here on Cox, either. Have to pay for the sports tier, I think. I've just got basic/expanded, and it's listed as "unauthorized" for me.

A big part of the reason why I just ordered DirecTV yesterday.

I'm getting it on my digital tier, unlike the NBA and NHL Networks which are on the Sports tier.

Haven't watched it too much lately, but I do watch the NHL Network a lot more than ESPN late at night now, and I expect I'll do the same thing with MLB's network once spring training starts

Larsen's perfect game was on in the original Kinescope format the other day (I started a thread about it) and that was cool. Didn't now how close a couple of Dodgers came to hitting homers and also did't realize until I watched it how well Sal Maglie pitched for the Dodgers. Stuff like that will keep me coming back. And I'll give their nightly show a chance, too.

They really need to dig a little deeper for "Classic MLB." So far, it seems their archives consist of Don Larsen's perfect game, the 2007-08 World Series and the past three all-star home run derbies.

In other news that will surely please consumers, of the 26 regular season games that MLB Network will broadcast on Thursdays this season, MLB Network will select its games about 10 days before they air, as well as alternate games that will be telecast in the local markets so there are no blackouts.

Apparently I can only get it here with DirecTV, but I can't have a dish at my apartment without paying some enormous deposit.

Not a fan of the studio shows on MLB, the talent pool is more like a talent puddle, shallow and small. Harold Reynolds was a poor choice to be the voice of MLB, though ESPN has scooped up alot of talent, whether ESPN uses that talent wisely or not is most certainly debatable.

Liked watching the Ken Burns series again. During the season they should have more frequent updates than ESPN and more highlights.

agreed. surely they can find perfect games or pennant clinchers or just random regular season games with a subplot that are more interesting than home run derbies.

Watched the 1986 retrospective Saturday, and once again, we're led to believe Dave Henderson's homer in the ninth inning of Game 5 of the ALCS won the game. (It did NOT.)

I don't know who I would have chosen. Charlie Steiner? going for that ESPN redux, ala NFL

I like Charlie Steiner a lot, but I don't think he could be the voice of a new network successfully. They needed someone younger and hipper to gain a younger audience, and they got that in Harold Reynolds. I do wish they would nab Steiner though. He would definately add to the Network. If for no other reason then him losing it live on the air.
