I played baseball, football and lacrosse, but man, do I wish I could have played hockey.

Grew up in Texas, back when NHL teams were where they're supposed to be, and knew almost nothing of hockey. Even if I'd wanted to play, I'm not sure there was a rink or a team anywhere around. But after seeing hockey as an adult, I know I would have absolutely loved playing it. Now I'm old and broken down, and couldn't even join a old broken-down men's league because I can't skate for ****.

Is there a sport that you look back and wish you'd played? Something maybe you've come to love since, something you know would have been right in your wheelhouse?

Baseball. Absolutely baseball. I played T-ball, but was always fascinated by the fact that all the other kids in the neighborhood got to come home with cool jerseys and brag about their exploits all the time.

My parents said they never wanted to push me into anything I didn't want to do. But dammit, who doesn't want to play baseball?!

I love watching volleyball but am way too fat to play my 3 inch vertical probably doesn't help.

Lacrosse. I would have ruled at it. Never saw it played until after college.

I'm with you Arnold, hockey would have been it for me.

I got to play a lot, if not all, British sports, football, rugby, cricket, tennis, golf, lacrosse, etc. but I wish I could have played hockey growing up.

I remember watching Gretzky's Oilers when I was very young, and using a plastic golf club and ball (you know, the ones parents give three-year-olds) and an overturned chair as a goal to shoot into.

Hockey for me, too, Babar. For the same reason (grew up in the South, can't skate worth ****.)

And lacrosse (which I got a sniff of in Maryland, but ... again ... moved to the South where nobody plays it.)

And, yes, cricket. ;D

Getting really esoteric, but the one sport I've never played that I think I would have loved (and been fairly good at) is Gaelic Football. It's sort of a cross between soccer and rugby. Fantastic sport.

There's actually a team here in town. I need to check that out sometime.

You'd make a fine end zone pylon. Or maybe a kicking tee. :)

I hate you.

Liar.

You're very close to getting my five-inch heel hurled at your head, mister! You can't bribe me with manny's tonight!

You know, the funny thing is if I were so inclined, there are apparently clubs in my area I could look into if I ever thought about playing cricket again.

There is a large carribean contingent in my part of the country.

We have a cricket club up here, GB. We've got a sizeable Indian population with all the tech companies.
