... now what? I got it free for a year but, since apparently the two best shows in the history of shows not named Lost have ended their runs, what should I make sure to add to the DVR list? What's HBO's latest, greatest show evar?

We watch 'True Blood' and 'Entourage.'
'Flight of the Concords' was our favorite, but it's ixnay.

1982 called and is very happy for you, Pern.

Columbia Record & Tape Club called. You still haven't paid for the Lita Ford cassette you got in 1988.

and now prepare to be underwhelmed until the moment you cancel.
If HBO does not have a "greatest show ever" going, and they rarely do, the rest of the product is pretty much ****.

If you have Comcast, you can go to On Demand and watch many of the HBO series reruns as part of your subscription.

Sunday night is the main reason I keep HBO. Right now it's True Blood. They have a series set in 1920s Atlantic City coming up in September that looks great.

Just from the past you've got The Sopranos, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, Carnivale, Real Sports, Rome, Sex and the City, Tales from the Crypt (real old school), the list keeps going. East Bound and Down is dumb as **** but funny.

No mention of The Wire? Say it ain't so, Joe. Say it ain't so.

But yeah, I'm pretty jacked over Boardwalk Empire ...

Deep_Background is reporting that Home Box Office has begun broadcasting to 1,000 homes on cable television. More on this story as it develops.

Don't forget to get your converter box. And when you switch it to HBO, all the TVs in your house will only be able to show that one channel.

If you've got a satellite dish, your parents will be able to tell you're watching the Playboy Channel if they come home and the dish is pointed straight up in the air ...

And if you get tired of HBO, there's this hot new channel called MTV that shows about 30 Rod Stewart videos and various New Wave videos in rotation.

When I change my tagline, that post will be mere gibberish. :D And no, it wouldn't be that; I can never resist a good prawn orgy.

my favorite HBO movie has always been the Beastmaster.

A source indicates to me they will be showing 'The Beastmaster' about 50 times the first month... :D Ditto for True Blood and Entourage plus boxing.
